The secondary Spector variant is designed and built as a top-of-the-line warship with completely modernized equipment. The vessel's primary turbolaser armament has been upgraded with a unique gas cooling process, allowing a faster cool down and recharge rate, giving her a rate of fire unmatched by other vessels. Additionally, the Spector's engines have been completely redesigned, resulting in a higher flank speed and better acceleration than the smaller Imperial-class. The primary variant has also been coated with a sensor absorbent substance, which aids the ship in avoiding detection by hostile forces. This film has been rated to reduce the range of effective enemy identification of the Specter by between 40% and 60%, depending on the sensor package used to detect it, and the sensor focus used.
The Primary variant, Mirage-class is designed with the additional primary objectives of stealth and espionage in mind, without sacrificing prowess as a warship. To this end, the secondary variant is equipped with some of the most advanced technologies in use anywhere in the galaxy. These include state-of-the-art electrochromatic paneling, which in conjunction with numerous holographic projectors located on the hull, can simulate the visual appearance of any of over fifty capital ship classes in the ship's database. This also can include objects such as asteroids and meteors. Furthermore, several sophisticated sensor jamming, redirecting, and interfering packages have been installed, allowing this Mirage to further confuse and disrupt enemy scanners.
