The operatives first do a visual scan around the ship. Flying around its hull they check for any alternative means of entry, after all, using one of the docking ports or landing in the hanger would be risky and may alert the crew and defenders. The first check near the engine, making sure they weren't active and seeing whether or not there was maintenance entry they could use.

The Republic deploys a prototype stealth corvette to silently deal with this threat. Its compliment consisted of 25 SpecForce Marines, 5 slicer specialists, and an assortment of droids for support, including modified astromechs, KR-1 Battle Droids, utility droids, and probe droids of various types. All the marines were well equipped for the operation at hand, sporting personal cloak generators, silenced weapons, det packs, and even a seismic charge as a fail safe in case things turn sour.

In addition a group of stealth bombers are on stand-by to support the infiltration team.

The corvette arrives some distance away from the drop site where they wouldn't be caught initially by any visual scanners. After that it activates cloak and begins advancing towards the asteroid field, navigating past any obstacles in its way.

Once preparations and planning is done, Umbra deploys teams of Spectre agents aboard a prototype stealth corvette. The stealth craft creeps in close toward the new Hutt battlecruiser, and the agents inside prepare for whats ahead.

They carefully navigate around any security measures placed around the perimter of the ship.

OOC: Is it just the ship or is sitting at a deep space shipyard of some sort? More details on the surrounding area?

The commander and his officers were set up in an apartment building within view of the HQ. As the man waited in the lobby of the building, there's a long pause after his statement, but eventually a few men hanging around the lobby approach him. (If he was sitting down the men make him stand up)

He feels something poke at his back. Most likely a blaster. Someone was behind him. One pats him down, ensuring he didn't have weapons or any electronic equipment on him. Saying nothing and working quickly to avoid attention from any civilians, they escort him a nearby hallway where nobody else was around, further down the same hall was a stairwell and an elevator. The back him into a wall and one of the agents pulls out a commlink which displays a hologram of an armored man, apparently their commander.

"Speak."

The operatives at the rooftops of the nearby buildings provide cover fire with snipers and guided rockets. Some of the rockets contained smoke warheads and provide cover to the troops scaling the walls, saving some, but not all of them as the completed their objective and fell back.

The troops underground breach the gateway with explosive charges, unfortunately alerting the guards inside but they were well prepared for a fight.

As the AA guns go down Droch boarding craft descend from the upper atmosphere. About 5 rain down the the HQ and slam into it. Each boarding pod contained 2 assassin droids, all of which immediately begin their search for a server room or data cache, exterminating anyone or anything that gets in their way with extreme speed and prejudice.

The operatives scaling the walls go for the ant-air guns, eliminating any hostiles guarding them, if any, and destroy the AA with explosives.

Meanwhile, underground. Spectre operatives move past the security via cloak, silently neutralizing the guards that get in their way and slice through the security gate.

The operatives at the entrance fortify themselves at the front, bring in heavy weapons and equipment of their own to protect themselves and continue the siege of the front gate. Meanwhile other operatives outside the structure begin scaling the walls of the HQ, either via jetpack, or grappling line.

The operatives had mobile shields of their own inside a couple of the speeders, which they don't hesitate on activating them upon arriving at the gate. SpecForce sharpshooters spot and counter-snipe the enemy snipers, either eliminating them or keeping them pinned down at the very least. All the men assaulting the gate were equipped with personal shields. They survive getting hit with sniper and blaster fire before hitting the floor and letting their sharpshooters do their work, afterwards additional speeders arrive with shield generators and deploy-able cover. The downed and wounded are dragged off to safety.

The guards at the walls come under fire from rockets, sniper and mortar fire. The operatives at the front gate begin advancing, letting their mobile shields provide protection for them as the advanced and picked off vulnerable guards one-by-one.

A homing missile is launched at the other walker. More rockets are launched at the rotary blasters as well. The gate guards are bombarded by mortars and anti-personnel rockets. The mercs on speeders maneuver to avoid the volleys of grenades, but a couple of the larger landspeeders take a few hits and are crippled, forcing the men inside to leg it the rest of the way. The speeders despite looking like ordinary civilian ones, seemed to have been reinforced with armor plating and remote blaster turret mounts. As the mercs arrive the hop out of the speeders and use them as cover, the men on bikes speed by for a strafing run on the guards spraying blaster fire all the way before turning back.

The commander gives the signal for the raid to begin. The walkers guarding the front entrance are suddenly hit by anti-tank missiles originating from the rooftops of some nearby buildings across the clearing. Following that, a wave of spec force operatives disguised as thugs and mercenaries on landspeeders and speeder bikes come rushing in for a surprise attack.

The commander of the Spectre operatives sets up in a nearby skyscraper in which they had secured a room with a clear view of the TE HQ's main gate. Lookouts take position at various vantage points and alleyways to ensure their supply and escape routes remain clear.

The operatives take their positions, readying themselves for the assault. A couple sniper teams take positions in other nearby buildings.

Operatives in the underground areas take position just outside of the security net rear the secondary entrance in the sewers.

Spec Force operatives begin taking positions outside the TE HQ in the surrounding area. Disguised as civilians, mercs, and other normal rabble that would be found throughout the city. The move in carefully and gradually so not to draw suspicion. They sneak in heavy weapons, ammo and equipment and set up hidden caches in the surrounding area for agents to resupply.

Escape routes and fall-back points are set up in case things go wrong. In addition, teams are deployed in the sewers as well, both to use them for movement throughout the surrounding town, escape, and also to assault the HQ from the secondary entrance.

The commander of the agents and his staff set up at a vantage point where they could monitor the op easily and safely.

The operatives draw out plans for a break-in but weren't giving up on an alternative quite yet.

Perhaps they could get someone to get the manifest for them, they double check their list of Person's of Interest and VIPs. They attempt to dig up whatever they could about TE's employees and senior staff. Perhaps blackmail could be a viable option to coax someone to betray the Hutts. No one working for the Hutts could possibly have a clean record after all, perhaps one of the staff or executives might be cheating the Cartel or something. Or perhaps not all are as loyal as they initially seemed. If that fails they could try simple threats against their lives or fortune.

The agents explore their options one last time, meanwhile they continue to monitor the TE Headquarters, learning as much as they can about the outer security especially about the front gate.

The agents search the underground, perhaps they could gain entry through the sewers. If anything, they could organize a plan to dig beneath the complex and gain entry that way, but for now they simply scout it out.

Umbra understood that the Hutts were definitely up to something big. Big enough to potentially upset the balance of power between them and the Republic. It was risky, but a raid on the TE headquarters seemed like the only way to get to the bottom of this. Adding a SSD to their fleet would be troublesome to say the least.

Umbra's agents begin staking out around the HQ, observing the outer defenses and security. They search around for a layout of the complex, even a basic one would do, but they are nonetheless thorough in looking for any decent records on it.

Otherwise they prod and test the security through various means and try to piece together a plan.

The Republic spies focus their efforts on tracking the component shipments. Widening their search throughout Hutt space. Umbra deploys agents to break into warehouses where the shipments are being stored to slip in tracking bugs. They avoid any highly secure areas if possible, and take their time to bypass Hutt security measures.

If that fails, they disguise themselves as pirates or mercenaries working for a rival of the Hutts and make the whole thing look like simple break-in, using brute force to find what they need and trace the shipments to their intended destination.

Other spies continue the same process mentioned previously (in my other comment) on other worlds where the components were being manufactured and distributed, usually interrogating or bribing suspects who might know where the components are being shipped to and for what, though they don't stop there, tidbits of information are gathered from common professional workers, bureaucrats, and slaves as well, labor droids are hacked and mined for their logs, etc etc.

Umbra's agents rinse and repeat this process throughout Cartel territory until they're able to narrow down the search and dismantle the Hutt's efforts to cover up their secret project while also covering their own tracks, preventing others from becoming privy to their operations within Hutt space.

Umbra's spies within Hutt space, most posing as civilian workers, slaves, or criminal thugs, begin moving in on Sleheyron and the surrounding system, trying to gather additional intel and confirm this disturbing rumor.

The means of gathering this info is standard fare for spies. Tailing Hutt VIPs, setting up listening devices, capturing and interrogating Hutt thugs and agents. Bribing information brokers. Skulking about in both the back-alleys, public areas, and cantinas. Investigating shipyards, local spaceports, tracking supply freighters and logistical ships needed to construct and maintain such a large vessel.

The Republic agents are thorough and subtle. They try their very best of their abilities to keep the investigation quiet and prevent the Hutts from getting suspicious.

Cover system was fine in DoWII since you didn't control as many units. But in the original games, especially when armies start blobbing out, it was too much trouble trying to take advantage of the mechanic. Most of the time I had to stay on the move anyway and push forward and cover usually didn't help much anyway. Since there bring it back up to RTS rather than Real Time Tactics, it won't be quite as relevant when your dealing with 10, 20, 30 plus units or more. I tend to shy away from micro-management, I especially shy away from games that require too much of it as it usually comes down to whichever player is faster. (IE Starcraft)

But yeah, hopefully that don't dumb it down too much and stick to the lore. I didn't see Angelos do any flips, but considering how much of a badass he is, doing sweet jumps in terminator armor doesn't seem too far fetched for him xD 40k thrives off manly men doing manly things, even if they don't entirely make sense.
