We love you too?
The initial install is roughly 800-900MB compressed. We will be releasing our launcher. More information will be posted soon on our forums at www.freeworldstidesofwar.com
Yes, forever and always, it's a mod after all. Not a game.
Something massive is coming...
We'll support Vista (if we have to), Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1. So far most of our devs are on Windows 8 and myself and a few others are on 7 so we can guarantee that those two work!
It's not. Don't worry, we'll tell you guys well ahead of time!
We will distribute our launcher in a variety of ways, which will then download, patch and install the mod.
Lucky for you guys ModDB isn't the only outlet we have ;)
Everytime you ask, we add another day to the release date. So +1.
Since 2008 (so a little longer then you've been paying attention ;) ) the mod has gone through 3 major reorganizations. Add to that that we all have either school or jobs and social lives (strange as it may seem :P), yes there is that much work. Don't worry, we're closer then we've ever been. Expect news Soon™
We will be shipping server files sometime after our main release. We will not be giving out server files for our BETA period.
Also, yes we will be working on a wiki with ship stats, locations etc. However, these things take time and will not be ready from the get-go.
For our BETA release, we're pretty much there. Just a few last things to test, complete, get the server ready and away we'll go. Exciting times :)
I'm afraid we won't support wine either. You're on your own with that one :)
Not a joke though. If you are running XP and run into problems, we'll do what we can but we won't go through extraneous effort to fix any issues that might crop up.
There's a topic on TSP's wiki that'll help you get a new version of Freelancer: The-starport.net
The above comment was me too, but forgot to login :)
Slight amendment to what FF said; It's run by FreeworldsGaming.com, a site and group a few ex-freeworlders (18xx) set up in order to maintain a stable neutral ground for anyone interested in playing games with us and for both freeworlds groups.
Feel free to poke me when you see me on there. Who knows, you might even catch me while I'm testing ;)
I think our facebook page is the page getting the most updates, with ModDB getting the bigger updates.
Thanks for the support :)
That's because you're old Chewie :P
Most likely not, after all your drive 'malfunctioned'. It has not used any known route, you were just thrown out of hyperspace because it couldn't calculate your route anymore. So because it didn't expect to be there, it has no way of reconstructing the hyperspace route.
You never know what the future might hold though ;)
This is because the mod is not released yet. No doubt you have an older demo version running which was discontinued about a year ago.
We hope you'll wait for the release version.
Thank you! Tell your friends! :)
Don't worry, we're pretty hard to annoy. Appreciate the support, spread the word :)
Only one more day left until our big event and AMA! Are you all as excited for this as I am?
Sizer has let me know that there may be a special reveal during the AMA, if they get it done in time. I'm not allowed to tell you what it is, but I can tell you it's very very pretty!
So join us on Saturday, May the Fourth, for an epic fleet battle and AMA with possible special reveal of new eye-candy!
If I'm right you're in the same timezone as me, so if you show up around 6PM local time you should be good.
See you there!
I know just about every player ever won't like those mines. Good fun for pirates tho!
Soon we're going to use a better version that we're using now. I can't wait till it's up.
Btw sush, nice page :D
