I am working on a hl2 mod. It won't be for everyone but I hope it will be an interesting experience for those who can get into it.
Thanks guys, means a lot.
Dear Esther took 4 years...
It's coming, God willing it will be done. I am working as fast as possible and I am happy with what I have so far, but it takes time. I'll try to do a more substantial media release in the coming weeks.
You can tell if this gets finished it will be very immersive and with a great mood and atmosphere. Keep it up!
Thanks. I'm glad you did this.
Can anyone tell me if this really works? If it does I'll put a link to it here in the moddb page.
I was thinking of keeping some of the classical tracks...
I don't have time to play but I watched a gameplay video of this and it is very impressive. With an art pass this will be one of the best mods out there like Mission Improbable 3.
Glad you enjoyed it, I hope V2 will be worth waiting for also.
Yeah, those photos form the star wars 7 sets look promising. Way better than the prequels... Maybe just as good as the old stuff. Who knows... As long as JJ keeps the lens flares to a minimum it may be a good movie actually. I am shocked.
Nothing rocket my boat since the Matrix but this might. ;)
You my friend and you did a great job. How is the latest batch of props coming along? ;)
Yes I'm aware of those bugs...
I am doing the best possible to deliver the mod as soon as possible while at the same time to not compromise my original vision.
I know people are anxious to play it and I am also anxious to deliver it, having spent 8 years on this already I am ready to complete it.
I don't want to talk about release dates yet. But I will let everyone know that work is progressing fairly well and God willing with help from few but very talented devs, I will be able to pull this off now and it won't be a rushed, "missed opportunity" like V1 was.
I hear others play even V1 without a problem. Maybe you need to revert back to pre-steampipe if that's still an option. Steampipe breaks a lot of mods and I dont know if its even possible to make V1 steampipe compatible.
Maybe when V2 is done I will revisit V1 and sort of patch it up for the latest version of Source so people can still play it maybe out of curiosity just to see how the mod evolved over years.
The current build is running on Source SDK 2013.
Keep in mind V1 is more of a public beta, it has it's moments I guess but hopefully V2 will be way better. As you probably know all too well these things take massive amounts of time. :)
The new star wars may be resurrecting the spirit of the trilogy we grew up with. Realistic, organic props and models instead of soulless CG...
Funny I say this because I am making a game so I shouldn't badmouth computer technology but still I prefer the organic approach, in fact I try to make my world look as organic as possible even if it's just polygons. The real world is a game too made of atoms instead of 1s and 0s. No substance anywhere really. ;)
Finally something mainstream I am looking forward to. Popcorn.blogin.hu
I will soon don't worry. I am entering a very hectic time for development. Lot's of stuff needs to be implemented. Thank you all for beings so patient.
Time flies incredibly fast for me. I cannot believe half of 2014 is gone.
Congratulations on the release.
H.R Gigger the creator of the Alien monster is no longer with us in the Earth Purgatory. From what I gather he went fast and did not suffer much. That is good.
All his visions are with him now. All his bio-mechanical friends. He is dreaming the dream. He saw beauty in that stuff. In a way that was and probably still is his Heaven.
Thank you for your great visions Rudi. May you find peace, bliss and see the Light.
Yes same premise and story but many improvements hopefully.
I don't think a summer release is likely.
Well at this point I'd say play V1. :)
I'm glad there is still activity here. I don't have much time to play mods but I did play through the citizen mods and also enjoyed watching Youtube playthroughs of them with funny commentaries. I am amazed at how many scripted sequences there are.
The very technical aspects of mod making can become so soul killing. Very much.
But hang in there! So much work went into these episodes already would be a shame to lose it.
Did you know that in Akira the Olympics was about to be held in neo-tokyo on 2020? And in reality it is set to indeed take place in Tokyo in 2020?
Some of the music is mine and no "official" track list for it exists. I'll try to organize the soundtrack of V2 into an album of sorts.
All the music that is not mine will be removed form V2. In the meantime all the music in V1 is mostly found in the mod's "MUSICQIUE", "moresongs" and "music" folders.
Just a test map...
OK then we'll keep these features and try to make them look as good as possible.
Not sure why or how is that happening, did I leave a link up to "day one" somewhere? That version was for testers only I don't recall publishing links to it to the general public.
But V1 is open to the all, it's here on Moddb or Planetphillip and probably other places too by now. Also try the torrents.
I'll try to strike a healthy balance between hand holding and a feeling of being lost. I am also adding multiple paths wherever I can so you are bound to find one of them. Unfortunately most don't appreciate a good environmental puzzle anymore.
It's a point and click mindset. Imagine if in the first Tomb Raider you found everything super easy. Would that be fun? Where is the sense of exploration and achievement? Of course HL is more linear than the early Tomb Raider games and this being a HL2 mod people probably come in with expectations.
I suggest you don't have any Half Life related expectations when you play this mod. It has nothing to do with HL. Not even the game play.
I won't make the mod too easy. I don't aim for mainstream success, negative feedback doesn't bother me. There are legitimate concerns, like being stuck on props, having too few or no hints on where to go and no subtitles/crosshairs, so I will address those of course, but overall this is not meant to be a "crowd-pleaser" there are so many of those.
In the end I do this because, for the most part, I enjoy doing it, not for any other reason. If people like it that's just a bonus. :)
And I do know that there is still a fairly large number of people who will indeed appreciate a bit of challenge and a heavier subject matter. I am making this for those.
