I am working on a hl2 mod. It won't be for everyone but I hope it will be an interesting experience for those who can get into it.
Currently working on a tiny laptop because I had to relocate for a couple of weeks. Also I can't login to Discord for now so in case I am not replying there that's why...
Ye I am working on it a lot. Most of my free time actually. Hang in there - completion is coming. I want to get it right. For a rushed version there is the beta to play. :)
Something like that may happen but I don't want to focus on marketing and shipping issues until at least most of the creative work is behind me. Otherwise I'll spread myself too thin and will not finish.
Great avatar pic my friend! :D
Yes, this is the second act I hope to finish in a few weeks. Indeed a milestone. Then I have to make the third act. :)
I want to release only when all three acts are done of course but knowing that these two are done (and will be released if God forbid I can't finish everything as planned) is a load off my back.
Yes, you make Huge mods too so you know how time consuming mapping can be!
When all three acts are done I will release as a free mod and if there is interest I'll try to get it on Steam for a small price. This is the plan but we will see. I hope it will be well received, I'll do my best.
Oh, Japan... =)
I like that. :))
Nah, that is a light on the wall behind her not part of her hat.
Princess Leia is one with the Force now.
So there is a Fast Detect 2 coming? :)
What engine? Not Source I guess...
I really loved the first one but it can use a little polish here and there. I think the style is amazing though this semi-surreal-industrial setting.
I am not worried about that yet as I have nothing to sell right now. It's not done. When it's done I'll see. :)
It's too vague, some thought it takes place in Asia cause of all the oriental design elements. Blade runner isn't worse just cause it set the date and place exactly, 2019 LA.
I have had a few dreams set in the world of my mod. haha means you are dedicated. :))
I like this, simple but efficient.
ＲＡＤＩＯ ＦＲＥＥ: ＶＩＬＡＳ ＴＲＡＩＬＥＲ
Some of the beta maps and props are featured in there. Nice work overall! It all fits together well.
funny thing is if he did make movies like this hed get a lot of views...
Thanks guys. I made some mistakes with the hud in the beta, looking back it was real silly to put the weapon icons the way I did... This time it will be good I hope. :)
You're online now! Sos did your comp make it?
Congrats on the release!
You'll make it. Hope the storm won't do any damage for you. Or anyone else for that matter. God bless.
I'm still here but yes many people moved on, it was hard for me to find testers... :(
I pray I can keep the inspiration going to finish this massive project. Not sure what happens after something so big like this- a decade long venture really and it often feels like all my life has been leading up to it.
No clue what happens after it. Exciting times tough all around right?
It's an older pic, the area has more detail by now. Everything I post is WIP. :)
I appreciate that. It's not humanly possible to knock out a good map in source in less than 3 weeks.. and we're talking many maps here. :/
If you want the truth all the coding is done by Biohazard and also he did some prop work. Without him helping me port the mod to the latest version of source I would have stopped development in 2013. I was tired of technical issues.
Also Mr Zip made tons of props for me. Also I have had many voice actors provide me with sounds. And I got some music from Revin.
As for the rest yes I am pretty much alone. Thats why it takes so long. :(
Mainly the mapping... that's black hole that sucks up time. The biggest drawback is that I can't test things on the fly... I have to compile, start the game, often build cubemaps... etc every time...
The trailer from 2012...Glad someone has it... I deleted it from my hard drive..
No new props there yet since the beta, also the subtitles are primitive but some nice effects were already implemented at that point...
Yeah tone it down a bit but it's nice, a little surrealism never hurts. As long as it doesn't break suspension of disbelief and game-play why not? Maybe it's a deep hole that goes into the earth's crust where combine are mining things and have set up huge floodlights. Who knows... we don't need to know, leave something for imagination.
Maybe make it less regular? the crack. I always try to put a story behind an area. (This building was built in 18th century then combine comes in early 21 century and adds things then some accident deep underground happens/ floor caves in but combine decides to try to patch it up partially and still use the station)
This sort of thing and then build with this in mind to make it feel believable.
New walk-through- the whole mod with original music, watch it before the copyright sharks mute it or delete it.
