I am working on a hl2 mod. It won't be for everyone but I hope it will be an interesting experience for those who can get into it.
You're online now! Sos did your comp make it?
Congrats on the release!
You'll make it. Hope the storm won't do any damage for you. Or anyone else for that matter. God bless.
I'm still here but yes many people moved on, it was hard for me to find testers... :(
I pray I can keep the inspiration going to finish this massive project. Not sure what happens after something so big like this- a decade long venture really and it often feels like all my life has been leading up to it.
No clue what happens after it. Exciting times tough all around right?
It's an older pic, the area has more detail by now. Everything I post is WIP. :)
I appreciate that. It's not humanly possible to knock out a good map in source in less than 3 weeks.. and we're talking many maps here. :/
If you want the truth all the coding is done by Biohazard and also he did some prop work. Without him helping me port the mod to the latest version of source I would have stopped development in 2013. I was tired of technical issues.
Also Mr Zip made tons of props for me. Also I have had many voice actors provide me with sounds. And I got some music from Revin.
As for the rest yes I am pretty much alone. Thats why it takes so long. :(
Mainly the mapping... that's black hole that sucks up time. The biggest drawback is that I can't test things on the fly... I have to compile, start the game, often build cubemaps... etc every time...
The trailer from 2012...Glad someone has it... I deleted it from my hard drive..
No new props there yet since the beta, also the subtitles are primitive but some nice effects were already implemented at that point...
Yeah tone it down a bit but it's nice, a little surrealism never hurts. As long as it doesn't break suspension of disbelief and game-play why not? Maybe it's a deep hole that goes into the earth's crust where combine are mining things and have set up huge floodlights. Who knows... we don't need to know, leave something for imagination.
Maybe make it less regular? the crack. I always try to put a story behind an area. (This building was built in 18th century then combine comes in early 21 century and adds things then some accident deep underground happens/ floor caves in but combine decides to try to patch it up partially and still use the station)
This sort of thing and then build with this in mind to make it feel believable.
New walk-through- the whole mod with original music, watch it before the copyright sharks mute it or delete it.
should have seen number 1 coming...
Hello, I still think your Dayhard LP was great. I don't know why, it was just so much fun. Hope you're well.
I won't promise any release dates anymore. I am alone when it comes to mapping and, as most here know all too well, that takes time... I will not compromise the quality and even the quantity of the mod. I did that in the beta... heh... this time I'll try to get it right.
fun mod -now running well on source 2013. great!:)
yep game-play should come first, my mod's first version suffers from the "pretty walking place" syndrome... i hope to improve the situation in the final release. Although if one wants to create a immersive and believable story and mood one cannot put zombies and crazy robots behind each corner so its a fine balance.
Keep it up, I love hl2 beta based projects!
Original "Empire Strikes Back"
On a VHS tape
Get more retro... I dare you...
May her soul rest in peace. Take your time.
thanks. you too. :)
Go watch the new Star Wars. It's good.
I heard that's part of a campaign to raise awareness of the bad air quality there. At least a few years ago when I heard about it this was the case, I don't know if it's a real thing by now. I hope not tho I know the air is bad in many Asian metropolises.
There's an addon here that removes them.
Make some more youtube playthroughs! I enjoy your commentaries. :)
Stay away from windows 10...
Thanks for the positive response everyone. It's tons of work but if you'll like it it'll be worth the effort.
