Mountain Giants are a race created by EA. Tolkien never mentioned any Mountain Giants in any of his books. The giants seen in the Hobbit are Stone Giants. One of them (Bargrisar, who is a non-canonical character) serves as a boss in the game "War in the North". Personally, I'd really like it if the Edain team added them to the game. However they would be better suited as creeps rather than part of the goblin army or any other army. Stone Giants are neutral creatures in the book, and Gandalf even mentions that some of them are "decent", which means they probably aren't spawns of evil. I don't know how they will be portrayed in the movie, but in the book they were only playing a game with eachother by throwing boulders.
