Normally I ignore such cheap posts, but sometimes is good to put out some hard facts: Crossfire mod contains much more as only improved textures, for case of Singleplayer it is hugely expanded campaign (a unique thing for FL mods), new galaxy sectors, multiple new systems, new ships, new objects, dynamic economy/universe (one of reasons why there is small amount of files to be downloaded when is game started via launcher, and it's optional feature btw) and much much more extra features for multiplayer. Personally I can run CF mod in stable 140 fps in max details ... and my PC is for todays standards average at best.

There is huge amount of work put into it, looking forward to return to Crossfire mod universe once again :)

Please raise new ticket for this issue here: Swat-portal.com ... Im not sure whether was reported such issue before, but with changes to windows during time there may be something new.

Edit: is advised to make new installation using new installer.

Here I just want to shortly comment this new installer release:
- For install is needed only Freelancer game (vanilla) installed (no mods, no patches)
- FLMM is no longer needed!
- Crossfire mod installation will not change vanilla Freelancer install!
- Installer contains link to preview page where you can see how some settings will appear in game.

Crossfire mod installation is now MUCH smoother and faster going and was tested working also on old windows versions back to Win XP.

Well, obviously post as guest can not solve any issue. SP campaign was tested only by me no less as fifty times. Vanilla freelancer however have certain limitations, if player "tests" what all can be done outside missions path, problems can happen. Everyone having any kind of issues with SP wanting help should ask on Swat-Portal.

Yes, it is about building the player's base there. Server clans have theirs own bases already, but they are in by humans occupied parts of Sirius and Altair.

To give some graphic card/PC performance perspective: with older 4core Amd Phenom II cpu and new Gtx 960 Gaming 2G gpu you can play CF in FullHD and SweetFx shader at max details + effects with stable 60 fps. It looks rly nice :)

Not bad written review for CF mod :) . Putting aside eula stuff (where obviously are opposite views on things) it is written with a good attitude.

Btw, you can look on this: Youtu.be ... issue with "cheating" NPCs difficulty really is a very relative.

What DPI you use on your mouse? Too high will result in lags ..., common mouses (800) should work good with FL/CF.

Just comment for your added review for Crossfire mod: If you tried at least once ask on Swat-portal, you could get alot advices how to easily solve your issue with NPCs which you was not able kill. We have more nice combat video guides which can significantly improve your fighting skills and you can very fast learn that these NPCs can be killed pretty fast and have much more fun as result. On CF is more mid age players with busy RL, but they have no issue with CF difficulty (they consider SP is too easy ... funny right? :) ). The best way to kill quick low lvl NPCs on start is use guns with heavy damage (and slow fire rate) and use Rapid fire technique. Guns just from Planet Manhattan are good for this ... NPCs dead in few seconds. Crossfire mod is purposely done difficult, because only this assure that players can have fun playing it for a long time.

Mod need to be installed via mod installer (it will be installed into Freelancer mod manager (FLMM) mods folder) and then activated in FLMM (this will overwrite vanilla FL). If you will not do both steps in given order, you will still have only vanilla FL.

Once you unpack downloaded mod package, there is link to swat-portal FAQ with detailed instructions.

There can be maybe 1 thing: try disable 3d sound effect in main menu.

Missing files are usually problem with antivirus program.

Sorry to hear this, then you can only ask someone in your neighbour who can have better connection. Download on swat normally works, quickly even if used LTE connection on phone. (2,8 Gb in 90 minutes)

hmm, maybe ask on swat would be better? ... try use some download manager Downthemall.net with FF browser you should be ok.

Take basic Rhino from pl Manhattan, do few trading rounds around NY (there always is something to trade) and you can proceed .. only buy fighter when Juni call. The fastest way, NY dont have prisons (they are closest in Texas)

:) There is easily seen how much moneys (points) you need to reach next level (which once reached will start new mission) ... press F8. This is going quite fast if you will sell escape pods in some prison station (like is in Texas). New CF missions will start right after you finish last vanilla mission (attack on Nomad city) and return to Manhattan (vanilla 13th mission). Note: prison in Manchester is neutral during whole campaign.

in space open bottom right hud panel. click on weapon and it will go green (selected) and will fire with press mouse button. You can create more weapons groups this way (as also fire them or change quickly) if you check in controls what all can be set there.

Simplest reason is that mod Creator want it such way :) (therefore it will not change) ... but it have also practical reasons: atm is mod released as beta, so have 1place (official) for download is easy for maintenance. New mod installer is in preparation. Next come security reasons, have mod for download on swat (and with new installer also here on moddb) can assure that player download clean unchanged mod installer ... torrents are out of control for us in this regard.
