Replaced the centaur damage skin with a pic of the shop and the shop keeper. Tried to add more screenies, but somehow couldn't - always got errors while trying to upload... :(

Thanks for this, I get the feeling most mods out there don't have access to even this little function in Photoshop, that can be a really powerfull tool if you put some work into it. I acutually use Paint Shop Pro, but thanks anyway, I'm sure a lot fo people will find this very useful. ;)

For those who don't visit the main page often, there's movement on our next, main project (called Scattered Evil), which you can check on the news section here:

By the way Vheapy, is there any way we at Korax' could announce also Scattered Evil and have a mod page here aswell - I guess it would be much more interesting than KMOD, as it is already finished, bagged and delivered...

Yes, I remember this mod for AvP back when the site was up - believe me, this mod has so much potential... They set up for bringing a new experience for realism and movie faithfulness, specially for the marine campaign, and by gathering the very best modders out there, CB team was the only guys trying ambitious moddifications on a very underated and unsupported game - I guess the source code isn't even out yet (could be worng though), which makes a projet like this near impossible... This is my only hope for the AvP game to be improved - there are only a few minor mods out there for it, nothhing gameplay-wise. I still remember from the forums the dedication and skill of those guys, I really hope this will get finished eventually, I can fell it will be of an extremely good quality. PLEASE don't give up!

Hey Krycha, just read your review on our MOD, it was very nice, it's always good to know what people think about our work. Most MOD makers out there work out of passion and for the opportunity of adding personnal touches to a given game he/she liked, but it's always bery nice to see people also enjoying and playing it as we do. ;)

Thanks!

Maybe one of these days I'll sit down and take a couple of interesting shots. Still there are a good number of public screenshots right on the news section of the KMOD page. Just scroll down through the older news and you will see the ones in here and also many more pictures.

Now that I think of it, some monsters in Kmod could just aswell have gotten a more extreme damage skin like this one. It's very brutal, but actually fits in well, makes the player feel more macho with the power of really hurting the enemies. Nice work by Firebrand.

One thing that's very nice about DoomsDay engine (used to implement KMOD) is that it has a good number of new effects and overall graphic evolution, but always works very smothly, as it should, if you have even a not so good 3d card (my case). The main conceptual problem is that the guy responsable for it is focusing much more on the graphic side, meaning Hexen's engine in itself didn't change dramaticly since from it's old days, it still have the same old limitations with sectors, etc. Vavoom, on the other hand, is built to really evolve it as a 3d engine, with slopes, skyboxes, etc (I'm not really into technical specs...), meaning that with it, we can develop the game in many way we wouldn't be able if still working on Doomsday. (Or, at least, that's what was explained to me :D )

Thanks, the page looks nice, this whole site is very nice!

We are all proud of KMOD, but it's just the beginning I think, so rest assure there's much more to come from us.

For those who don't know the project, here's a few new features (gameplay wise) over the original game (for complete list, head this way - Korax-heritage.com)

-Damage skins: once the HP of a monster sinks below 50% of its start value, the damage skin of the monster is activated, making it visually plain it's low on health. Depending on the monster, it can mean things like bleeding chest, broken horn, torn wing etc.
-Enhanced stats: speed now influences the delay of the melee weapons as well, not only the running speed (i.e. when your Fighter's speed is higher, he'll be able to deliver more punches with his Axe or Gauntlets in the same time span than he could when it was lower)
-Fighter has now Battle Rage (similar to Mage's Magic and Cleric's Faith), along with a new spell-kind attribute, the Berserker
-New weapon enhancements for the Fighter's Quietus and the Mage's Sapphire Wand (there are now 4 different versions of the wand). All Fighter weapons can now be used without mana
-New spell for the Cleric: Spirits Within
-New spells for the Mage: Possession,
Summoning and Horrible pain.
-Certain monsters might drop some treasure when they die
Between episodes you will be transported into a shop in another dimension where you can extend your equipment, using the treasure collected from dead monsters
-New MD2 models and sprites (silver and gold bars)
