Max with 'ObjectGeneric' shader.
Check inside the barrel, that's how you do spurious detail folks!
It is clear that this texture has not been adjusted for C&C3 yet. The faded look that you can see on the texture in Max, would be wildly exaggerated in C&C3, and would result in the details being totally washed out. This texture will need more contrast, but I will check what it looks like in C&C3 first.
Also because of the usual specular issues that Max has, I will wait until I have seen what the barrel metal looks like in C&C3 (it will be slightly reflective) before deciding on how light or dark the shading will be.
It is also worth noting that I typically sharpen the diffuse texture just before doing the first export to C&C3, which means that most of the Max screen grabs (including this one) show an unsharpened texture.
