The realism of the units, especially the star destroyers and mon cals really wowed me. I love the ability to completely remove any heroes once they're defeated once. The era system is really ingenious, and I appreciate how detailed the tech levels change in each era.

There are things I wish were additionally implemented into the game, but I can more than content myself with what the game already provides. Blows the vanilla game out of the water, I would never play it now if I can play Thrawn's Revenge instead!
