I like this mod. I used to love Brutal Doom, but have eventually become tired of it. The original Doom gameplay has its merits -- the fluent, uninterrupted killing. Doom Expanded is by far the best-looking graphics enhancement mod I have seen. Forget about those high-def textures and 3D models -- they just look weird in Doom. Doom Expanded improves Doom's graphics without losing its original flavor -- low-def textures, low-def sprites, but adds better lighting, essential particle effects, better sound effects, a few more death animations, and a little more gore -- that's all. I like how the enemies' eyes and computer lights glow in darkness -- the mod makes lights like lights, not just pixels in lighter colors -- a small touch but very effective. See the screenshots here:

Agreed. I just finished E1. E1M8 looks very beautiful, especially with the Doom Expanded mod which brings enhanced lighting. Gameplay is just as fun as the original Doom.
Rename BDJR.pk3.bak to BDJR.pk3 then it should work. It is the main mod file. I don't understand why .bak is there.
How do I turn on the laser sight?
Wow, I just tried this mod and it blows me away! It's rare to see in a shooter game that reloading a magazine actually discard the ammo that is left in the current one. It adds a lot of realistic to the game, makes it harder and I need to get rid my habitual reloading that I have got from the FPS games I have played so far. The sound of the weapons and monsters are great. I also appreciate that you have included the source code so that I can enjoy it on Mac by compiling it myself. Great job!
I run into the same error on Mac. I believe the reason is that your mod contains a custom game code (gamex86.dll) that is only built for Windows.
I suspect even version 6.0 doesn't crash on Mac, a lot of features won't work, which is what I found out with Sikkmod.
Luckily Sikkmod comes with the source code, which allows me to compile it for Mac and finally got it working. I wonder if you can release the source code for Perfected too.
