CryEngine 3, standalone, Tiberian Sun <--- this is going to be a Tiberian/Tiberium fan's paradise!
The game still has got a very long way to go. It's still in pre-alpha/alpha afterall. So it's too early to worry about certain choices the developers have made, are making, or are going to make (though there's nothing wrong with criticism, just don't let criticism slip into worry as it's too early for that).
But as for the concept art, I agree, it doesn't look like the Nod soldier that we're familiar with from Tiberian Sun (the unit rather reminded me of Halo for some reason). But who cares, I'm more interested in the upcoming concept art Incognito hinted to.
And a final word; since this is going to be a standalone game, would it be technically possible for people to develop their own mods for it? Or would it be possible to use some other method of opensource development? Cause that way the community can tweak the game (e.g. implementing various skin-packs) without forcing changes upon those who don't want changes or have other preferences. No idea if this is feasible, just a random thought.
Well hello darlin', that's going to be my new home. The entire trailer park will be jealous! ^_^
Well if Kane said it then;
I'll step down into the darkness and cover myself in shame, for I have sinned by ignoring the voice of the true messiah. :)
I'm avoiding Facebook for ethical and conspiracy reasons. Get your forum up already. :(
Oooh so much nostalgia is drifting up. :)
By the way, wasn't this image posted already? Or is this an update of the model?
Agreeing with all suggestions made in regards to the crystals and their surrounding.
I'd like to add to that, the crystals/tiberium needs to look more aggressive (if that makes any sense?). I'm hinting to something like this: I.imgur.com
Anyone wants to bet that Tiberian Genesis gets completed earlier than CNC Reborn?
As you said Incognito, it depends on the context in which setting is better.
If it's in a redzone, with alot of infestation of tiberium and/or veinholes (I really hope you're making veinholes & field by the way!), the lower picture would seem more fitting. If it would be a yellowzone, with still tiberian infestation (but relatively mild), the upper picture would be more fitting.
But in a heavily Nod occupied area, I'd say that the lower picture would be accurate aswell (I don't think the Nod guys are very clean, considering how they want to spread the green around). :)
Checking the Facebook rightaway. :)
Keep up the good work. I hope that Tiberian Genesis will flourish, because as it is looking at the moment, it's the community's only hope of getting to see a full well-built FPS of the once populair RTS game in the flesh... since there is a big possibility that C&C Reborn won't be finished anytime soon (if ever) considering how absurdly long it has been in the process.
Though not only that - who wouldn't want to see a Tiberian Sun FPS with the friggin CryEngine!
Website is still down. Any estimated time when it will be back up? :(
Renegade-x.com is down. What's happening??? :S
If you ever need testers, damn, please be sure to tell me to pick up the game to test your mod. In about a week from now I'll be having a beast including a GTX 580 (or something similar from AMD/Sapphire, not sure yet).
Well duh! Why do you think Kane is so ****** off at this unholy injustice called GDI!
Awesome modeling & textures, but two questions though: Will the ammo belts be moving when shooting? And will you see empty shells flying out of the Vulcan when firing? Just some minor details, but would still make me drool though.
Wow, thanks for reminding, I completely forgot about that one. Yeah it was damn awesome! :D
The crystals looks quite nice, but one thing that has been bothering me. There should be textures on the ground between the crystals aswell (like tiberium veins) that connect the spread and therefore make it sense of the way it spreads.
I don't care what universe you're from, that's going to hurt!
Looks awesome, but all I care right now is that it pops out of the ground when defending aswell! :D
Agreed with ApornasPlanet and Mars_3K, definitely agreed.
I'm not going to judge on the lack of textures, as some people just can't seem to realise how relatively young this mod is, this looks awesome!
More like that you have to choose either of the two at a time.
Someone get an engineer to repair that bridge!
Epic! Keep it up with the scale like this. Again, I just love it that you stick with actual scales as shown in cinematics, or that would make sense.
Compared to CNC Reborn, this Vulcan turret is EPIC! I just goddamn love it that you guys at least try to stick with the actual scale that was shown in the cutscenes. From a Tiberian Sun/Firestorm fan since its release, thank you.
ITS THE TITAN!
Dang, seeing that thing in any mod or picture always gets me fuzzy. Good 'ol times.
I love this mod very much already, but I agree, the yellow should be different, a little bit darker I reckon (I do greatly aplaud the motion to reduce the shoulder pad size though, much better and much more close to Tiberian Sun). Also the Nod soldier's suit needs alot of work to be close of that of the cinematics. Still, keep it up guys! Can't wait to test this game when you need people to! =)
Hopefully this is going finally to be Tiberian Sun in FPS as I always dreamed of playing it (C&C Renegade style gameplay, in Tiberian Sun/Firestorm setting, in a modern game engine such as the Unreal engine, or in the case the cryengine, which is obviously even better). Looking very much forward to your creation guys, can't wait til your next update! :)
