IG is really a tricky thing to balance out correctly though, Honestly, while making their doctrines all viable.
They're supposed to be able to pull off combined arms pretty well.
If you change one aspect of their balance, you threaten to change it all. Care needs to be taken without a doubt.

Try modding it in, Pal. Just be warned, like these guys say, it might cause some instability.
Anyways, the Corsix mod studio is a wonderful thing ;^)

Because Power creep is a horrible thing and it should never be the answer. Variety and balancing and viable tactics aren't gained through making everything a one shot kill.

It's been about the same for me, Tbh. The only problems I've yet to experience have been from the Eldar stronghold, and that's because they have weird invincibility events.

Well I've got to agree that it'll suck if both factions are nerfed into mediocrity, but they *do* need some sort of nerf, They're just totally out performing all other factions right now.

You'd have to play with people with the same version of the game as you, yo. But you could probably mod that in through the Corsix mod studio pretty easily!

Why would you dread that? Been playin' IDH or Daemons too much?

It's mostly just very specific events and stuff that can mess up.

Like the Eldar stronghold scar has them teleporting a base from one area to another, but the actual buildings they use don't take damage because something got royally ******, they go invincible before they teleport to keep the "storyline" of the scenario, but never teleport and therefore never turn damageable again, so you have to change the aspect portal and super heavy portal to the non dxp versions, which is.. odd to say the least.
And then, you have to make the Fire prism spawns non dxp, or they won't take any damage to their shields because of.. I don't know why, actually.

YO! Get the the "Corsix Mod Studio" and you can play around with the files pretty easily. Modstudio.corsix.org

What you want to do, is open the mod studio, select load DOW:SS Mod, and select your UA Module (I would suggest making a copy of it so you can still play online)
Then, you want to follow this path until you get to this file:
Data > Art > UI > Screens > Mainmenu.screen

Main menu, as you can probably guess, controls the main menu. The UA team disabled the Campaign button because campaign specific units can be sort of unstable/broken and SCAR tend to errors happen when it's looking for very specific units and reference files.

Go to line 855, and remove "visible = false,"
Save the file, open soulstorm, and bam, there you go.

However, this will cover your skirmish button - so I would suggest you additionally change that button's position to:
(On line 795-799)
position =
{
0.01687, 0.03427,
},

or something similiar. THe buttons will be all lumped up close to eachother, but it'll still work.

Yo, Anxozt, just be sure you go into the stronghold scar files and change the units from the dxp ones, in the Eldar mission at least.

I had a problem where the Fire Prism tanks were completely invulnerable, Lol.

It's slower firing but higher damage, so it's no wonder that it won't do much against a swarm race.
Mix up your turret lines so that you're not gaining one strength for a massive weakness.

Reactivating the campaign stuff is easy peasy. The time consuming process is debugging all of the SCAR files so that they all work with Ultimate Apocalypse. So far i've been able to take over the IG/SoB planet with no problems, but i'll play through the rest and see how many fatal scar errors I run into that'll really play hell with the experience.

So, Since i'm on the fuckery binge of playing with UA Files and reactivating Campaign mumbo jumbo-
Does anyone know how to mod the Metamap much? Ie the Campaign map.

I'm thinking it would be damn cool to make a few more planets, or even better, to enlarge the current ones to have more territories, along with trying to put more factions (ie Tyranids, IDH, Daemons) on said campaign map. All of that *should* be possible within the limitations of the engine.
The only thing i'm not sure about would be zooming in onto specific planets you're playing around on, although there is code already existing for when you "reinforce" a territory that gets a nice pan over & zoom effect to happen.

"Magaera type Knights are most often used as shock assault units, breaching the most heavily defended enemy positions, while shrugging off heavy weapons fire and self-repairing even devastating weapon strikes in a few minutes. To aid in this role it is armed with a complex lightning cannon, using focussed electro-magnetic beams to vaporise infantry and blast apart armour."

Well, just got my answer by looking closer at the files
Data > Art > UI > Screens > Mainmenu.screen

Go to line 855, and remove "visible = false,"
Save the file, open soulstorm, and bam, there you go.

Time to delve through the files and make UA honorguard honk honk

Or some righteous soul could work on that fix and provide it to the rest of us, to lift some of the work load off of the modding team, Who are likely taking a much needed break after a large release, Lol.

With that being said, What is the process to actually reenable the campaign, Zeroteg?
Is the stuff you need to change not in the mainmenu.screen, or if it is, what part of it needs to be changed to what?

I had a hilarious game a few weeks ago.
I spammed about 30 fully reinforced conscript platoons in a melee rush at a defending tau force, and ended up crashing everybody that was in the game. It was beautiful to say the least.

Yeah, I think he's just sort of salty because of the humorous loading screens. They're not super high quality, yeah, but getting a nice chuckle before a game isn't necessarily a /bad/ thing.

I'd suggest putting out some "stat sheets" for the various units on the Wiki, tbh, So that we could roughly compare units, strengths, and prices across the board. This would help more numbers orientated people that are trying to get the most bang for their buck with army building strategies.

Actually, I'll just shoot you a PM and probably contribute the stat sheet stuff myself!

It might also help with balancing factions on a numbers basis in the future as well, because having an easily accessible and comparable stat sheet is a great thing.

Hey man, An offer to help is still an offer to help, and when Campaign comes into play, Just debugging that stuff might become a bit of a hassle.
