Hi guys, it's been a really long time since I've visited moddb and I apologize if there are any issues whatsoever with the current state of Black Snow. The truth of the matter is subsequent Steam updates since release have rendered the game really unstable and requiring a lot of maintenance to keep working. The game was made with NO CODING at all and relied on some hacks and scripting tricks to get going; with the new Steam Pipe structure a lot of folders are reorganized and these scripts are no longer functioning as they should.
Unfortunately, as stated before, the team is current consumed by our current project which requires every man available and are unable to troubleshoot Black Snow. Please understand that this is not a decision that was easily made. We will come back to patch Black Snow once more time becomes available or even port it into a better engine, but currently we have no plans of revisiting the mod. Once again, I understand this is not an ideal situation and do sincerely apologize.
Should anyone be interested in following our current project, feel free to visit the website. We will also be demoing the game at this year's EGX Rezzed in London, so if anyone are around and want to drop by, we'll be there every day!

Rest assured something along that theme is also in development - but we're not ready to talk about that one yet.
HL2:EP2 is needed to play the mod!
Unfortunately with the new update from Valve for SDK 2013, Black Snow is no longer playable in its current state. We do not have the time nor the manpower to fix this at the moment as we're involved in the current project that is in a critical phase of development. Rest assured we will fix and maybe even revamp Black Snow after our current commitments are announced.
You should play the mod and decide for yourself if you heard right :)
Please try deleting the bind "SPACE" +jump from your autoexec.cfg and see if that helps. We're not going to lie, we have no idea what causes this and we have pressing matters on our current project to attend to so we will not have much time to dedicate to troubleshooting this problem. If you have any solutions that you have found out please feel free to post them here. I deeply apologize for the issues and the delay but the bottom line is that we have to dedicate our time and resources elsewhere at the moment.

No, please download the separate key fix. I am uploading several attempts to do the key fix in separate installments to test which one works.
Sorry to hear that, it is much less about losing interest and about time constraints and other projects. Rest assured this will not be a recurring issue in our game.
Hmm, now that is a new bug that I have never heard of. We will take what we have learned to our current project but there are no plans for us to revamp Black Snow as of current. While that would be fun to do, we have decided to focus on a bigger project at this time.
I apologize for the abruptness of the ending, but rest assured it was done for a reason.

It is an ongoing issue, as I have stated many times before I don't know what is causing it, I can't replicate it on my PC. I can't fix a bug very fast if I can't recreate it to begin with but I am working on it, and it does not help that I have a very limited control in terms of the keys since this mod is done without any coding. Please be patient, I am very busy right now but will find time to address the bugs as I slowly narrow down the possible causes.

You can use the "+use" key as well but that doesn't seem to work either lol - I have no idea wtf is happening. They keys are set based on what the use have it configured to, for example the exit key is set to whatever the user has bound for "jump" and "use" - I can't set it to use a specific key, only commands.
Still looking into it, very odd bug that I have been trying to resolve for weeks now - I'll have to get back to you guys on that. Very sorry for the inconvenience, this didn't happen on any of the playtesters' machines.

The mod was accomplished with no coding involved, unless you mean art-wise.
Yes, the mod can be a bit resource-intensive during load times.

Do you have HL2:EP2 installed and ran it at least once?
The game loads during the black screen so be patient if your systems are lower-end as the mod can be a bit resource-intensive. If it stays black for longer than 5 minutes, please get back to me.
This is STILL an ongoing problem, I am doing various tests to solve it right now. ETA for next patch unknown.
