Ha - well, I got it running again after a second reinstall. Searching forums tells me it might have been that I had the temerity to change some of the key bindings (save games), that might have done it.

Goddamn AI. I knew I shouldn't have ticked 'grant consciousness' in the options menu.

I got the game running on my elderly 32-bit rig a couple of nights ago. Love it - great to have a new STALKER experience, and it looks amazing.

But now, two days later, it won't run at all! I haven't changed anything, and I've tried reinstalling and starting again from scratch. But even on a new game, once it's finished 'synchronizing game data', I get an instant CTD from the loading screen. Anyone else have this? Any ideas?

Ah, jeez, okay, I worked out I was trying to delete stuff in the 'install game' folder. Idiot. Sorted now, thanks.

Yes, thanks - I know I need to remove those files. But in my installation folder, the bins are all RAR archives. I can't open them to delete anything without a password that I don't have. Any idea what I need to do?

So I've got the 32-bit problem, I've seen people saying that the devs say you have to delete the various .dll files from the bins. But I can't open the bins files to delete anything, they're password protected! Is that a common problem? Am I doing something noobish and wrong, or do I need to wait for a password or other fix?
