Check the log file. The game should be started from the Mod shortcut or host.exe in the bin folder.

Had this issue. Try saving and loading the game when (1) the scene freezes and (2) after the guy kicks him and the screen goes black. The game will pick up the script once you load each save and it will be fine.

Couple of things I would tweak in this mod:

1. Return bullet drop and bullet speeds to their realistic values. Increasing bullet drop for the purposes of the game would only make sense if you could actually use the scope reticles to figure out the distance and elevation. Otherwise it is just broken sniping.

2. VSSK is a great rifle but 12,7x54mm round has much lower ballistic specs than 12,7x99. It just can't do more damage than M95 in any circumstances.

In terms of weak attempts at humour, I would say that since this is basically a Ukrainian/Russian game the jokes you hear from stalkers are very Ukrainian/Russian culture based jokes. If you are not from that culture, you may find those jokes dumb, just as many Russians find western jokes empty. It really is normal and understandable. Jokes aside though, LA is a most daring overhaul of Stalker series I've seen. I wouldn't call it a mod but a remake. Only thing I hope for is that they will get all the bugs fixed.

Now I can't rate this mod. If it was a finished mod, I would give it 9 but since it is still a rawish piece with many bugs I can't give it nine nor do I want to underrate it. I understand there have been leaks which precipitated the release but it still has to be patched to a good working standard. Please modders tie up all the loose ends so we can call it the proper Stalker as it should have been.

Can someone explain to me why many modders like to create "open" scope view textures for their weapons whereby on looking in your scope you can still see the rest of the picture outside the scope AND the whole picture outside the scope zooms in together with the part you are actually zooming in at through the scope?? I understand it is easier gameplay as you can use the scope to zoom in on the entire screen and observe the surroundings but it is purposefully UNREALISTIC. Either make it so that only the part visible through the scope gets zoomed in (and the picture outside the scope doesn't - as demonstrated here En.wikipedia.org) or simply black out the zone outside the scope (as in I am aiming through the scope with one eye closed).
