You could use the camo/hide skill and instead of being invisible it's a stationary mass of bodies(if more than 1 zombie in the group) texture wise and when someone gets too close they disengage the skill and attack kinda like how if enemies get to close to your sniper he's "revealed" and usually killed...only they actually would disengage it(not sure how you would force the disengage completely but yeah...)
