If I try to change any of the graphics settings, the game crashes to desktop. Is this normal behavior?

For me, installing the STALKER Complete 2009 mod made the game playable. The camera wobble alone in the vanilla game was enough to stop me from playing it. Not only does your mod disable the camera wobble but it adds so many other enhancements to make the game very enjoyable to play!

Are you running the game through Steam? I had the same problem and resolved it by right clicking on the game title in the game library and selecting "Properties" on the popup menu. Once in the Properties form select "Local Files" tab and then click the "Verify Integrity Of Game Cache" button. Once you do this you should be golden!
