Currently I'm working on map. Detailing one region takes few hours, so I suppose that campain map will be ready in a few weeks. Scripting, adding factions and units takes more time and since I have no experience with this I cannot currently tell when I will finish.
My first idea was to include Serbs, but the area is congested enaugh and there wan't be any action left for Serbs. Also I already used 30 factions. There is a possibility I combine Welsh, Irish and Scots together and add Croats and Serbs.
The year is 936. Seljucs didnt' even emerge yet.
It would be excellent mod, if the economy wasn't broken. I played two campaigns. In both of them i was broke. Ridiculous army upkeep, about 7-8 a round, abysmal province income, and no king purse. Both campaigns were the same. Vikings with their starting army steamroll everybody. And when their armies are gone, anglosaxons steamroll everybody. Both Frankish Empires do nothing. Magyars pillage Koeln every turn, and I conquer everybody with army of only generals.
But the map, units, descriptions, textures and scripts are wonderful. By far the most polished and enjoyable mod I've ever played.
Huge fan of the mod. It's the best vanilla overhaul I'ever played. Yet there are some issues in my opinion.
The map is gorgeous, but it's a bit overkill considering the fact that most places are empty. Distance between places is outrageous the game looses its momentum. Ba! From the start there is no momentum at all. Most factions are far away from each other and are separated by rebel provinces. My experience is that for several dozen of turns game is slow grind through rebels. It's a barely fun. Actually pain in the butt. Turns are slow and around 1/3 of the time I'm waiting for AI. Also map, fancy and everything, has some optimalisation issues, because on my quite good laptop jams when i scroll through the map.
Those are quite minor issues considerig great work you've putted in the project. Confratulations and thank you for such a great mod! Cheers!
