You can get going with C++ pretty fast. Just don't dive into the more advanced stuff (templates, operator overloading, multiple inheritance, etc). Treat it as C with classes for the beginning and you're fine to go.
Then during day to day work you will learn more. Just don't get frustrated too soon :)
