Big thanks for the support, what do you want to see in Eden Star? When we launch the website we will reveal more about the core gameplay, but what are your preconceptions and how can we get you even MOAR invested?!

For example - I'd like to see social multiplayer and co-op play...

Thank you! Please spread the word, as this is where we need your support in the run up to our Kickstarter (with a difference...). With the Eden Star Kickstarter you will have a chance to get your hands on a playable tech demo of the pre-alpha combat. We will explain more over the next few weeks, the way we see it is that we should allow you to try before you spend your hard earned cash, in the same way that we would if we were to approach a publisher. If you like it and want to see it come to life, help us make it a reality by pledging your support!

Fully real-time and fully playable :) As with all of these things, it's pre-alpha footage and we are looking to further modify the physics in order to allow us to interact in specific ways with the broken chunks (we can't say too much more on that yet though...) but it's solid and works hand in hand with modified Apex destruction and PhysX rigidbody simulation.

I know what you mean in regards to most major studios - I feel the same :) But I'm sticking to my guns in regards to this indie team that are challenging the major studio model and who are striving for excellence - the great part about indie dev in general is that there are very few people to answer to apart from the fans and therefore I'm more likely to get my idea/suggestion for extra gameplay/guns/awesomeness :P in the game because the dev team listen via public forums and have the flexibility to do something about it - therefore, i'm happy to pay and support them because I care about the game.

When it comes to EA/Valve/Activision etc. i'm 100% behind you as it's costing me £40 per game and they have £££££££'s budgets to create the experience in the first place, re. Mass Effect 3... :)

Totally understand what you're saying but these guys are an amazing, small team working with an indie budget whilst creating AAA+ content - I for one will happily pay for extra content and know that the money we pay will fund the team to produce more awesome work - can't wait! Funny thing is - I would happily pay for extra functionality/gameplay!

We'll say right here and now, that Eden Star's goal is to be free to play - we have an awesome economy (gameplay loop) that makes the game VERY fun to play for free users but is also really worth while for paying customers, allowing people to get their hands on something that they feel is really worth the value and/or time invested. We have a goal to build up a community that really helps influence the development and design of the universe and so please spread the word, get people to comment and talk to us!

I think you need to look at how the website works before you throw around comments telling small indie dev teams what to do when it's still an indie title whatever the platform it's released on (therefore it's posted on IndieDB), are you going to post the same thing on Minecraft's page? As the other comment says, IndieDB and ModDB are not separated, any posts made on one site is reflected on the other. Indie dev is about many things, such a encouraging creativity and the expression of great ideas independently, just because it's not on the platform you like does not mean that the advertisement of the game is wrong. Touchy or not, try to be a little more open to encouraging the small (often unpaid) teams that are trying to get a few people to purchase the game that they've worked tirelessly on. Rant over :)

:) I don't think there are any copyright issues dude, unless Gareth has an issue with it (but i doubt that very much as the trailer is free to view and so is the audio on it) - so it's all cool, any interest in the game (and/or the audio) is and really appreciated.
