This reminds me of the Surface levels from GoldenEye 007!

Played through the seven maps today. Not bad! I especially liked your take on Dead Simple, especially the arena with the Arachnotrons: having to take cover behind the cylinders while fending off attacks from the sides reminded me a bit of the D-Day level from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, which is certainly an unusual but interesting twist for Doom.
Funny how it ended up feeling like the optimal difficulty setting to me, then! :P
I have tried replaying the demo and I was honestly disappointed that it lacks some of Extreme's enemy spawns. I was expecting Hardened to be the same as Extreme, only with quick saves enabled and without the explosive vent covers.
Ah! Well then, I have nothing bad to say. Perfect demo!
I played it on Extreme because I assumed it was essentially the same as Half-Life's Hard mode. Exploding vent covers aside, it was quite manageable actually, thanks in large part to Jay. I love her already!
Excellent demo! Much better than the first one, which was already decent. I got my hands on the twin Uzis and I love it! I raged a bit at some platforming puzzles and encounters with grenadiers, but that is kind of my fault, as I chose to take on the demo on Extreme.
One problem I noticed is that vent covers tend to explode when I hit them with the melee weapon, causing me to take damage. At first, I thought it was because they were booby-trapped, but later on, they kept causing AOE damage. I had to shoot them with firearms in order to break them open from afar to avoid taking damage.
Also, is it normal if Jay's mouth does not move when she talks?
Rather, it is Time to Split!
Will the new demo still include the mine level?
Interesting! I am following this project. To avoid confusion with the other Doom 2 Redux, I would suggest renaming this to "Doom II Revised", "Doom II Revision" or "Doom II 2.0".
What happened to the Pistol, though?
EDIT: Okay, so I played through the first nine levels. My main issue with the project so far (the puzzling lack of pistol aside) is that while the maps might look better, they have become much more linear and cramped - and as such much less interesting gameplaywise. In many ways, it reminds me of the contrast between Quake and Chasm: The Rift in terms of level design.
The demo already featured cutscenes and they were fairly well-done!
I am not sure if the genre has died so much as there is simply no room for competition due to Fortnite's dominance.
I got that, but what I meant to ask is where it is supposed to be located.
What area is this? I do not recognize it.
And yet the IOF is getting trounced in Gaza, because as it turns out, dealing with people who can fight back is much harder than shooting at starving civilians from afar and remotely detonating apartment buildings. Not only that, but the State of Israel is running scared now that it is getting dragged before the ICJ; in hindsight, it probably was not too good of an idea to openly gloat about ethnically cleansing Palestinians so much over social media... And to top it off, more and more Israelis are getting ****** at their Supreme Leader for getting more hostages killed than freed and for being generally more interested in keeping himself out of prison. Even Joe Biden will have to ditch him eventually if he wants to stand any chance of getting re-elected...
So yeah, **** Israel. From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free. Like all the settler colonialists before them, Zionists can either renounce their genocidal ideology or they can run back to the places they *actually* came from (i.e. usually Europe)...
No, Hamas has been doing right by the people of Gaza, actually, unlike the useless and downright treacherous Palestinian Authority.
Zionists can go **** themselves, however, no debate there.
I see you have a GoldenEye for detail!
Interesting take on The Shores of Hell! I like the use of Chasm and Quake textures and the beefier weapon sound design. I have only played E1M1 so far, but this feels like a completely different game.
Speaking of E1M1, is there a way to backtrack to earlier areas? On my first playthrough, I have failed to find a single secret.
On the nitpicking side, I find the font to be a little too dark, making it hard to read text against a black background.
I was also going to praise you for removing hitscan enemies (i.e. the basic enemy shooting single plasma balls) and recolouring enemy blood to match their sprites (i.e. the Hell Knight), but then I noticed you kept the Chaingunners and the Shotgunners and I see the recoloured Cacodemon still get covered in blue blood when dead. Oh well...
Are dynamite sticks going to be the grenade-type weapon for the whole game?
Oh, okay. You were not referring to StarCraft Remastered so much as StarCraft/Brood War itself. "Remastered" is the version with the new graphics and the one you have to pay for. I got confused for a moment there.
StarCraft Remastered is free now? Since when?
Ah yes, I saw them in the Train Ride clip.
Since the Timesplitters Remaster is reportedly not happening after all, I guess this mod is the next best thing! And I say that as someone who has never actually played Timesplitters... :P
No dual-wielding UZIs, though?
So can this be played without StarCraft Remastered?
Alas, I have made my peace with the fact that I just do not have the nerves to handle most real-time strategy games.
Still, I am glad for those who do!
Man, this project looks impressive!
I just wish I could be good enough at StarCraft to be able to enjoy it... I do not mean it as a criticism, but I feel intimidated just looking at the new tech trees. x_x
The game's plot and cutscenes seem to be rather amateurish, but is it actually worth checking out gameplaywise? By which I mean, is it on par with StarCraft/Brood War?
