So, I just downloaded this and just got a bit into it, and so far it's excellent. Combat is awesome, and I just really enjoy the overall realism of the game. In fact, I made this account just so I could talk about this mod! :D
That being said, I really wish you could make the minimap and character names toggled options. I only just started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R in the first place, and I hate having to pull out my PDA to make sure I'm not wandering off in the wrong direction (which I tend to do a lot). It also helps to know exactly who I'm supposed to talk to.
For example, I just did "The Hit". After that I had to go from guy to guy and get told "The boss is over there, go talk to him." Since there wasn't a minimap with a star to show me just who the leader was. Seeing character names when I look at them isn't all that important, but I like not having to pull up a dialogue box just to figure out who they are.
Another thing that gets me is ammo. It's ridiculously expensive to buy. And I'm actually ok with that, and I understand the reasoning behind it. The problem is that selling ammo doesn't give you a fraction of the cash that buying costs. The stalker I'm trading with wants 1900 RU for 50 9x18 rounds, but will only give me 80 RU for 50 of my 9x18 rounds. I know your logic is that we'll have more bullets since we'll kill faster, but jeez :( You can't even give us 50%? 25%? It's literally less than 1 percent of the cost to sell ammo than it is to buy it. If I decide to buy a new gun that uses ammo I don't have, I'll be screwed trying to get rounds for it.
Anyway, I'm really impressed by the work you and your buddy have done, and I'll be checking in for any future updates. This is a really great beta :)
