Have repeated the problem by re-running the patch. After the re-run there are no longer any saves in-game. In the patch save folder there is one file called vampite-999.sav and a folder called 'old' - which contains all the save files that were in there previously. When I move those save files back into the save folder from the 'old' folder, only the one which worked before (a really early save) appears in-game and works. So the patch appears to be doing this! IE it is removing game saves and putting them in a separate folder called 'old' and creating a sort of default save called vampire-999.sav. If I run the game at this point, there are no saves in-game again at all, and previous ones I move in the save folder still fail to appear in-game. Is there some way to reverse this, or make the game recognise these earlier saves? Why is it not recognising previous saves? - even ones which were created since running the patched re-build of the game, when the patch is run again? The answer is out there, I know it is!!!

So basically; i have 4 save files in my "saves" folder in the unofficial patch and originally all 4 were there in the game as well. Once i came off and went back on the game hours later, only one save appeared in the game but when i go into the save file, all 4 saves are still there. I don't understand why only one save is showing in-game and the game clearly isn't recognising the other 3 saves.

Is there anything i can do to get the game to recognise them. I really need these saves to work as i made so much progress on them. Thanks - Joe

Hiya, never have started from Steam at all, just from the shortcut created by the patch. In patch saves it has created a new folder called 'old' with the same saves in it. Is that significant at all?

Hi. Just used the unofficial patch and got vtmb working with Windows8. Been playing all day and have done a number of saves to make sure my progress not lost. When logged off for a while though, and then logged back on only my earliest couple of saves are working (Pawnshop), and although the later ones are still in the unofficial patch save folder in the game directory; the game itself doesn't seem to recognise them, and they are not showing in the load game option. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but no use. Have I lost all the progress I have made now, and have you any idea this could happen? Do you know how to get it to recognise my later saves please? I'm just worried that I will just lose my saves again as soon as I log off again now? Can you help please?

Ah that's great because everyone else seems to have it on Steam and not the retail version!

So by main game folder, do you mean just copy and pasting the entire download into the files inside the actual disk, or the game files on your computer (SAVES, maps... etc)

It would be helpful if you could maybe show me (copy and paste) your file route of where to put the patch just so I know where the patch files exactly go. Thanks :)

Hi, I do not have the game on Steam, - I have the game on disc so what would I have to do to get the patch to work for my game. It would be really useful if you could tell me which patch files go where in the disc files as its different to the Steam files. Thanks
