Fixed: I actually was running on the 3.01 patch without even realizing. Anyone who's tried the fixes I listed above without any resolution, please check you are running the correct version... like I wasn't. :P
I updated my Vicky to the newest 3.03 patch and viola! Everything works great and I look forward to trying out this mod!

The mod loads fine, the main menu has the correct picture (the "Victoria Ultimate" one replaced the vanilla one as it should), I can choose Single Player just fine and then choose my country, the scenarios are all there BUT when I choose "Play" I crash instantly. It completely closes my client and says "v2game.exe has stopped working" and the only option I have is to close it and try again.
Now, I have re-installed both the mod and the vanilla game twice to no avail. I have cleared my cache a countless amount of times to no avail. I'm completely lost now because every method I know of has not solved this issue, and I don't appear to be alone on this according to other comments.
If the developer of this wonderful (So I hear, yet to play...) mod or anyone from the community could guide me in the right direction to get this issue fixed so I can play the darn mod, I'd be very thankful! This is the only modern-day based mod that's sparked my interest for Vicky and I'll be very disappointed if I can't get to try it out.
