... about to get announced!

A long time has passed by since I uploaded my fist concept art demo reel. It was an interesting time and I've discovered many things about drawing, painting, concept art and myself, memories that I don't want to forget. My showreel was a good way to keep all those memories alive at any point at which I needed a little reminder of where I started and how much I've developed in my first year of art.Just like in January, it is getting quite cold and I decided to finally get rid off that badly edited video with music that didn't quite fit that well.

The first problem that I've encountered was that I didn't have gained more experience in video editing since January, so I got in touch with a good buddy of mine, who is more into moviemaking and editing than I am.I'm really glad that he spent all the time, problem solving and hopefully also fun moments for doing this video. It has been a lot of work and the video went through many many versions until it was finally finished. Now, after having a cool video of my art, I needed some music that would fit my ideas of the shown atmosphere in my art.It didn't take much time until I've found a musician, who obviously is talented in what he is doing.

After a lot of talking and describing of what I have in mind for my video and different concepts, we finally had a first one-minute-track. But, of course some things had to happen and so our musician gave me a lot of critique about the video and how it was going to get mixed with the audio.

So, another try on the video was needed. This time, we went for something more complex and I even did some simple story boarding for it.User Posted Image
The idea was to create a 3D room in which the camera is flying through my gallery. On each piece of art, the music should change and fit the theme of the image.

It was also planned that the camera should move to various points within the image to create a more vivid feeling. In the end, we had to cut that off for those two images, because the video didn't fit the timing of the track any longer and it was hard to get them synched, when both, the video editor and the composer work at the same time on different subjects.

But, after endless updates and massive amount of talking to each other, we finally have managed to finish a version, that simply helps my art to develop an even further understanding of what I am trying to tell with my pieces and lets you imagine even more detailled worlds with your very own storyline.I proudly present my newest Concept Art Demo Reel for 2010:

Haven't seen my previous work including 2009? Check out my Concept Art Demo Reel from 2009:

(If the video shows the 2010 reel on here, refresh the page to avoid that bug)

Thanks, I worked closely together with the sound designer, so everything is now pretty much like I imagined it.

But, I prefer comments on the video itself, because the blog will disappear further and further into the space of the archive and it's easier to get back to the comments on the video, when I'm in need of a little motiviation ;)

So further comments on the video, please.

Very nice work!
However, for future reference, if you use someone else's work please credit them for it. For example, you used my 3d model of the Powerplant and you didn't put my name in the credits, I'm ok with that but someone else might not be so you should be more careful in the future.

Anyway, it's a very nice presentation. :)

I asked you for the image and told you about the demo reel and in a case like this I'd rather get the material off the video, because I worked a lot on those images, the video editor worked a whole week on it and Alexandro even killed some nights for it to realize all my ideas.

Of course, I can see your point, but for the future: if you want to get credited, tell me when I ask for a work of yours and don't wait until I've used it, to finally come back to you, thanks.

(This sounds like I'm ****** off, but I'm not, don't get me wrong)

It's good that you asked me and as I said, I don't mind at all. But someone else might, I was just warning you as a friendly gesture. I think most people sort of take it for granted that they will be featured in the credits. ;)
