Buildcraft comes with a world gen called "Scarygen"
This is the config formula to make a "farlands" style gen
these plug in to the fields in order:
2 242 92 minecraft:sponge 274 1
index
ground height
ocean height
ocean substance
cloud height
geostratagen
ocean substance can be most any minecraft block...except some stuff mods add
to find some of them though, you might need something like "not enough items" block dump feature.
