He's right that it's a compilation package but he's wrong that it's outdated. I keep it constantly updated and the new monsters are there just turned off because this mod is for those that enjoy the nostalgia of the original monsters. I made a few tweeks in the weapon recoils and if you don't like it, change them. Instructions are in the cfg file for everything you need. If you have questions, just send me a msg and I'll give you an answer. I'm not trying to steal any credit from anyone. I want everyone that made this package possible to get the most deserving credit. I only put it all together for others to enjoy what I enjoy about this mod pack. That is all.

I'm headed to Quakecon tomorrow. I'll be finishing the weapon sounds, updating the mods, and upload the final version of the compilation this weekend. Thanks for everyone's support in this package. I didn't create any of these mods and no I didn't use someone else's package to make this. I spent a very long time downloading each and every mod, keeping up with the updates, cut a few out and blended some together that I liked and put it all together myself. It looks similar to other compilation mods because these are the only mods on the internet. All credit goes to the creators of each mod that you can see their names on my site page. The only thanks I deserve is the time I spent putting it together for everyone to use and reforging the original weapon sounds in high quality that a lot of people have been asking for. I hope everyone loves this compilation and make sure you thank everyone that made it possible. Peace, love, and rockets everyone!!

I have put most the original weapon sounds back and even increased the frequency from 11kHz to 48kHz so that they sound stronger. Hope you like it

Open PAK3.pk3 within your Id1 folder using winrar, open sound, and delete the weapons folder.

You will have to use winrar to work with the pak files and if you open the largest pak file you can remove the remastered weapon sound files and it'll default the old sounds.

I tried to keep this as vanilla as possible so that the UI, sounds, and chosen models all make sense. I worked around as many models that I could find online and the biggest problem with so many mods is that A LOT of them conflict with one another with models and textures. So I combined them all into one pack so that the textures and models no longer have conflicts and I picked out the ones that looked the best and the closest to vanilla. I did pick out a few of the sound mods I found and left a few alone like the rocket launcher and the super nailgun since they are the most favorite to everyone. I wasn't fond of the new sounds for them so I left the original sounds alone. I did however like the other sounds that were in that sound package. None of this is my work. The only thing I did was pick and choose the best mods I could find and put it all together how I felt it should be like. The guys that make these mods are mad at me for putting it together but I'm proud of them because they made it possible.

Thanks for the heads up. I have checked my batch folder where I use to store my files for uploading and the only two that I see that are in there are just the shareware pak0, pak2 file for water patching and the pak3.pk3 file that I have for the mods. I'm reuploading just in case. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I hope to see more input on this since I put in a lot of time to perfect this and make it as close to vanilla as possible.

Like you said it's geared towards vanilla and as of right now due to the lack of popularity I'm not sure how much more work is going to go into this mod. If you really want some community mission packs for this I'll consider looking into it.

It's about equal, like EbonKnight said it's mostly geared toward being vanilla which is exactly the way I wanted it. My favorite is the gyro physics of adding force to the weapons using weight on the sprites. By adding force vs weight I can manipulate the power of each weapon depending on the weight of the given sprite. There are a few tweaks here and there and it's mostly a combination of mods from all over the net some of which I did or did not like so I removed some, and kept some from within mod packs. An example would be that I would find a weapon mod pack and only liked the shotgun from it so I would just replace the shotgun. One of which was changed a lot since there are many different ones and I was very picky about it.

Sorry about the wait, as of right now I am uploading the final version of my mod that includes the full compatibility to the expansions. As soon as the link becomes available I will edit the post and give the direct link to the comments and then the news section for revision and review. I have also included the environmental changes in the new upload.

If you open the autoexec.cfg with notepad, you can toggle the "special effects on maps" section to get the environmental things you are asking for. Try them out and see what you think.
Also I'm working on the mission packs since they are tricky to work with due to the real lights and the hud. I wanna make sure it's perfect before I submit the changes. Right now it's just alpha expansion integrated.

It works with any version. All you do is go into your id folder, take the pak0 and pak1 file and paste it into the same folder in the download and run darkplaces.exe
