"I installed the mod"

I may be alone in saying this, but WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE WITH THIS MOD?!

I didn't played this game for 4 years, now i returned and thought "I should check UA mod, it probably have grown way bigger than i remember".

I opened the mod page and "Why there are tons of revisions of the same version?"
"Ok, modding is hard so it's probably just tons of patches".

I installed the mod aaaaaaaaand it crashed the skirmish. I tried everything, every possible option and nothing worked.
I asked my friend about it and he had the same problem, but at some point it just started working. But the multyplayer didnt.

I still had the UA-THB-v1.87-FULL version, so i installed it, just to be sure and everything worked fine.

I went online to check what i'm missing, and it turned out, not much. Also i wasn't alone in this mod breaking anytime. And overall it feels like nothing major was added and its less stable than the version i downloaded 4 years ago.

Maybe i'm just very unlucky, but i just don't get one thing. How the version from 4 years ago is more stable, than the most recent one?
I'm not modder so, maybe it's a common thing, but it feels like, it should be the other way around.

Well yeah but in my opinion, thats not a solution. It still must be intresting and fun game so people will hook up on it. If there will be no one to play, no one who liked it and no one who would think: "That was fun, but it would be beter\fun with..." there will be no one who will mod this.
