Oh, sorry for late reply. Yeah, I'd like to make this on HL1, but it requires C++ too, so I'm gonna have to forget about it too.

Well, right now I've started making my own game with RPG Maker XP, which is freaking powerful and awesome program. I'm packing most of my game ideas into this one project and so far it's looking good! I'll probably make a page for it on ModDB. I'll keep you guys informed \o

So true. Source needs alot work on models, rigging and exporting models. All textures/materials needs a seperate text file and the file types require problematic plugins for Photoshop.

Doom 3 is easy because you can get everything to work easily, but then again, it requires much more work on hi-poly models to render a good looking normalmap. I really want to make this on GoldSrc but it seems to require as much programming skills as Source. C++ language, Visual Studio for compiling and modifying SDK etc.

Unreal Tournament 2004 engine would be awesome because most of the work really happens in one editor.

Thanks man. I think I'll start experiementing with Source. Can you recommend me any good C++ books to get me started with mostly modifying Source SDK? I know how to compile the SDK, but the language is pretty difficult for me. I understand some of it's basic logic but there's still alot of stuff that's complete gibberish.

I must say, I am impressed by the quality of this mod. Only thing is, I can clearly see the idea of the story. By writing something on the wall, with no clear mark who it's written from, players usually point it on the protagonist. Now I understand that this story is another 'I'm dreaming/dead and dreaming' thing inspired from many other HL mods such as Mistake and Fear of Monsters (Was that the name again?) and of course Silent Hill. Not to bash it or anything, but it's just way too obvious.

Okay, the last part was quite darn short and lacked a storyline completely. It is not smart to make a horror game about asylum with just random grotesk things and Silent Hill-ish visuals. If the protagonist is insane, you gotta tell players why he/she is with scattered clues and such. I'm downloading the Mistake -1 right now and expect something better this time. If it still lacks the storyline and REASONS for things, I will be disappointed big-time. This LOOKS promising, but does it TELL a promising story?

That question was for me, not you, kid.

SHTS has been going on rather slow lately, but we are still working on it. We still have places to fill, such as second monster/organic modeller.

We all have our lifes, y'know? I have another game project, Nomrah has gone to a new school, UnkSoldieR .. well, he's pretty much the only active one. Yeah, there is that guy who works on his own project and makes us the ambient/other sounds. We just don't have work for him yet.

Yeah, It's delayed to late november in Finland or hell, maybe even the whole Europe. I'm still going to play it, no matter how royally they ****** it up. .. I think every game series deserves that 'laughing stock'.

About those town parts. We are cutting most of them off because of Doom 3 engine's limitations. Too large areas + all lights dynamic (thanks to ID for not making any lightmap support at all), a horrible idea. The Stage is mostly based in indoor areas but may have some 'outdoors' in cinematics. And hell, maybe I even might make that observation deck as a little treat for you, friend :D

The Stage has been going SLOOOOOOW MOOOOOTION lately because we all seem to have our real lifes, and I have another game project on ZDoom engine, which I will register on ModDB in few days. Be prepared for some steampunk zombie splatter :D

We really are aiming to give a confusing and depressing feeling to players on The Stage. Let's see how it turns out..

Yes yes, as I replied already, I was just testing different light colours and techniques with those textures. That scene is now heavily modified and part of the Asylum episode.

Just listening to Angerfist - Spit on you. Fits pretty well with that guy :D I can already imagine him running after me with his trusty sledgehammer.. MMm..

This is something I need. I've been all out of motivation to work on The Stage and wanna see something good. This is the good I'm talking about :D

EDIT: You still shouldn't show people everything, especially bosses and key scenes. I'm going to just show random scenes and basic monsters to fans. No bosses or special rooms/items/characters will not be given to public before release.

Right now I'm working on a job that game company gave me before they take me in. They want me to make a wintery scene with any program and game engine I choose. I chose Unreal Engine 3 because it supports outdoor scenes rather well and 3ds max for most of the props.

Hope they like it. Gonna upload pics tomorrow :I
