I agree with you on that. What I like most, and what I was mostly referring to was how he beefed up certain units. Ships like Acclamators and Venators and Victorys are viable options for a fleet, they aren't just the ships you build until you can afford ISDs.

I would suggest looking at Phoenix Rising if you haven't already. It sounds relatively similar to what you're working on, at least in terms of unit balancing. In terms of hard points I'd say keep it for Capitals and anything greater than Capitals (SSDs, Dreadnaughts etc.)
