99 Levels To Hell

Game review

I absolutely love this game. It's unforgiving, frustrating, and has made me legitimately -angry-, yet I keep wanting to play it. The atmosphere is amazingly immersive thanks to the eerie soundtrack and dark yet colorful visuals, but don't think that the game is slow because of this. You have to finish the levels as quickly and efficiently as you can so that you are able to get the loot and exit the level before it suddenly all starts going to hell. What do I mean? Play a level very slowly, taking every single item, admire the art, leave some monsters around... You'll see. :3

Anyways, the weapons and items seem to be overall balanced and varied, so there's a weapon in there to appeal to everyone, from the long-range rifle to the personal touch of the bubble gun. The art is clean and it's clear what everything is, so you can't easily mistake a bat for a spider in combat. When you blast a small crowd of monsters with a shotgun, there's a nice big pool of blood left behind, thanks to the entertaining hemodynamics, or blood physics, but hemodynamics sounds cooler. The soundtrack is perfect for the game. The normal levels have very atmospheric music, but the boss battles have brutal metal that nicely captures the stressful nature of the event.

99 Levels To Hell is something that I believe is worth trying for everyone, though quick reactions, a touch of patience (or maybe just stubbornness), and bloodlust will sure help you.
