Having worked as a farmer and woodcutter for most of my life i became determined to do something that would leave my mark after i was gone. Since then i got back to studies, and i have now a master degree in Electrotecnical Engineering as well as a degree on Electromechanical Engineering. On my free time i like playing and so i became interested in creating my own games or, in the shorter term, modding games to get something closer to what i would like games to be.

Orks definitely do need weapons [s]of mass destruction and blow up planets[/s] on walls as it will be consistant with all other structures of da Ork boys.

Boy Hut

HQ

Mek Shop

LP

You name it.

This was a quick mission editor overlap of buildings as a demonstration of something i was discussing with RT2 related with your x wall concept. Pretty much the idea would be to have a central turret over a base with the x structure possibly having secondary turrets. Animation wise if all anims could be x-red'ed to the settlement ones and the waagh banner ones there wouldn't be much of a problem with aims and the like but it would certainly take a while to get done even by RT2.

The problem here is mostly the 3d work to get it all in one model and working correctly. In terms of addons it is mostly a concern for OE/FFE so in theory it could have the required addons. Personally i would have 2 upgrades for the central turret like the banners from basic shoota to double shoota and then to rokkit launcha. As for the secondary turrets i would likely upgrade them at once or in a cross (so 2 upgrades allowing 1 weapon each) although OE code wise i would likely do it so it could be upgraded individually for greater versatility.

Keep in mind this is conceptual talk between myself and RT2 and passing from concept to practice isn't always easy. Still feel free to add your own suggestions as this is the best time to suggest things from both conservative to revolutionary ideas.

A^2 = B^2 + C^2.....

By rotating the whole animation set for the Orky HQ, it would just be a matter of time before I math out the total lengths of the intersecting walls and then could integrate them into the model, with the upgrades staying the same as they are now for the ork HQ.

The tower in the middle as me, unless I xref the anims in for it and then go on to use them as the basis with the other outside cannons as the upgrade like the HQ.

While in theory it is possible, there is quite a few failure points. especially OE where the Animations would need to be integrated for the towa. :P

As I would use the anims for the HQ as the base.

But first, time for more coke. :P

Those four sets of settlement walls were such good fun to play with. :P

They were very orkish, with the enemy troops being able to get through them, if they didn't waste their time shooting them, with enemies taking damage as they went through. :)
Combined with the orks being able to hide behind the walls till the enemies get closer and then running through the walls to slay the enemies of orkoid kind. :P

Also the dynamic ability to be able to make a settlement of your own type was something I wished they did with the original game and instead of making the orkish settlements of each other it would have been truly ramshackle orkish settlements. :)

With the ability to be able to make orkish prisons out of the structures aso something i liked.

And the walls not stopping the endless tides of orks, stopped the Ai pathing collisions which always made orks maddening like a mad boy. :P

They were a bugger to make, but such good fun to play. :P

The long title says most of it. This is a visual interpretation of what could be used to make cross walls for orks with lots of weapons or no weapons at all :P
