Having worked as a farmer and woodcutter for most of my life i became determined to do something that would leave my mark after i was gone. Since then i got back to studies, and i have now a master degree in Electrotecnical Engineering as well as a degree on Electromechanical Engineering. On my free time i like playing and so i became interested in creating my own games or, in the shorter term, modding games to get something closer to what i would like games to be.
Suffering from some issues due to a significant exposure to tic tac toe (i think i had never played it so much in my life as in the last weeks for this work). Damn i only see tic tac toe wherever i look!
Aw cheer up man. There is always Monopoly out there...
Don't even suggest using an industrial robot for monopoly, this game is complex enough for this kind of work.
PS: I did this gif while making some pictures for my report on the subject.
What gets me is why to start in the middle?
You start in a corner, then go to strike the two adjoining corners in sequence, and you never lose. :P
Actually in this game the human player would have started in the middle and the robot would defend. This is actually just one of the strategies the robot could use as each move was determined based on previous moves and the current board occupation rate. Also for a human detecting the best attack defensive strategy is easy for the robot all cases had to be covered or it would play wrong.
Is there a name for the Algorithm?
I would call the defensive algorithm i created my algorithm, probably someone has named a few tactics in this game but i have only defined the possible cases and built the algorithm from those so the name would be the one i choose it to be.
