That settings.ini must be a file of the game.
As far as I know we don't have a file called like that.
Checking the files in steam will probably fix it I guess.

I think you need a framework update.

And also you should avoid interacting with an equipment chest before the fade to black.

Is there something on the other side? If not, I guess a fix is unnecessary XD.

Well, at first I thought the mod was to short and the story was kind of lazy XD.
But you really don't know the whole game if you haven't played it on hard.

I found more healing items on hard for some reason XD. So, except for some certain levels, hard isn't really much harder. After some practice I could even kill the enemies in "Cry of Fear"-style (hit-backup-hit-backup-hit...). Works pretty well, the only enemies I used guns for were the crawlers and dogs. I had plenty of ammo left at the end on hard.

After that I started the challenges ... but I lost the interest when I tried to climb up the tower XD. I guess I will try that again later.

Conclusion:
If you want to improve the game I would advice you to include some more maps, and try to force the player to use different weapons, maybe with different enemy types. For examply, let the battery of the drilling machine go empty even faster, but provide some more batteries for it.

Keep the ammo rare, and improve the melee fighting.
The mind-**** scenes in between are nice, but half of the game consists of them.

All in all it's a nice game, but it could be much more.

What I don't like:
It's pretty short. I haven't played anything of the unlocked stuff yet, but seeing how short the game was, I don't even want to. I'm not trying to offend here XD, but I couldn't really see some kind of a story here. I'm sure you had your thoughts about the story, but it isn't really drawn out that good in the game. I mean we all have our guesses, and I like games that keep some things unclear and leave you with a bit of mystery, but I think in Grey it's a bit too unclear.

The melee weapons are pretty useless, I mean you can hardly damage an enemy without getting yourself all the time. With a bit training and concentration it's possible, but often the enemies just hit too fast or for example the small jumping ones have a way too high frequency for their jumps.

As soon as you have enough ammo this changes drastically, the enemies are not problem at all. So there is an inbalance between melee and guns I would say.

Also the game is pretty short, the big melee weapon with the concrete on for example, I only used that one ONCE, I also used the drilling machine only ONCE, when it was empty, I never used it again, although I found a new battery for it later.

What I like:
From an artistic point of view I really like the game, since I also like Silent Hill for example, and it reminded me of it very often.

The Textures are wonderful, contrary to Cry of Fear even the enemies looked very good and had pretty good animations.

The voice acting for the main character is pretty good.
Overall the mod has a professional feeling.

This mod seems very ambitious to me, so I'll give you a review, and I hope you will read it XD.
I won't spoiler here, just basics.

Look at the floor ... you just have pick something up.

I just finished the game on normal.

Yes the crates seem all to drop a magazine, the problem is the floor. I think the magazines can unluckily fall "into" the floor, apparently the floor is made of a flat collision model with other models on top that represent those square objects, I got the feeling they can unluckily fall into one of those square object, so you don't see them lying there. Strange enough when I reloaded the autosave it didn't happen again.

I like the game, if you have enough ammo, and at the end you WILL have enough, the enemies aren't that hard anymore, the odd thing is melee really isn't very helpful.

But I also think it's kind of short, ok I didn't yet play any of the unlocked stuff, nor did I play it on hard yet, but a bit longer, combined with somewhat better melee fighting would have made it more interesting imo.

Well, ok ... I'm in the level The Favor ... I have killed two of the "girls?" ... I destroyed all the crates, I got like 7% Health ... and I don't have any ammo left ... what do? Do the crates respawn?

EDIT:
Oh and because of the crates, there was only one that contained ammo anyways ... so I didn't waste it or something XD.

lol ... just had to laugh about that comment.
Many people think torrents are evil just because they were used for pirated stuff XD. Torrents are perfectly fine, some game developers even give their users the possibility to load their f2p games via torrent themselves.

good question XD
There really should be a way to defeat the enemies without getting hit. Cry of Fear did this very well, in Cry Of Fear a good player can completely prevent to get hit.

Well, ok I can play it now.
The solution was pretty simple ... and I can't really believe I haven't got the idea myself XD.
NOW it's an awesome mod.

But, yes the enemies are pretty strong.

Btw.
Does it make a difference if I aim for the head?
Because ... the enemies take quite a lot of bullets/hits XD.

I'm currently trying to get this running with EP2 gcf Files, but I doesn't seem to work. I have a original HL2, and I won't buy EP2 for this mod. So my question is: Is there any chance you will change the mod to work with HL2, instead of HL2:EP2?

There are no "ERROR" 3d models or pink textures?
I tried to place the episode 2 gcfs, I even extracted them, I just can't get it working.

For the errors and missing textures to disappear I should only need the gcf files from ep2, right?
