Something I wrote up. Based on the real world event of Greece's Financial troubles which starts a fictional war between three factions.
This story can be played out in the Modern War "Reloading" mod for Generals: Zero Hour.

The world in Early 2012.

In early 2012 the world economy is slowly returning to some stability when
Greece reports that it will not be able to make payments on its second
bailout. This means Greece will be bankrupt, and have little to no
government by the first of March. The EU then begins to plan what to do
with Greece, or what will be left with it. Now, Across the Atlantic in
the United States. The debt has continued to climb. United States debt
holders are becoming furious with the U.S. Congress, and President.
However. A new faction was stirring. A beast that has been silent for
years. The Global Rebellion Force. Established quickly, it filled the
power vacuum left over from US campaigns in the Middle East. It would
only be a matter of a few months before they would be known on the world
scale.

Date: March 4th, 2012.
Location: Southeastern Greece.

By this time Greece has been bankrupt for three days. What is left of
Greece's Military guards the small town of Karfistos. Karfistos is
located near Greece's major Oil Refinement Plant the fall of this would
be a death blow the the Greek military. There is also a nearby
Airport where international aid is coming through.

"Today marks a glorious day brothers! Months and years of planning have
finally led to this moment! We have been hidden unknown to our hated
enemies, but now our time has come! We will reveal or selves like a sand
serpent striking from beneath. Comrades. Fight not only for your
survival, but fight for your future! For your future comrades! Charge!" ~ Alkarhid, Global Rebellion Forces Officer.

After this speech Global Rebellion Forces flooded down from their base in the
hills outside Karfistos along with the aid of Civilians influenced by
GRF messages. After much battle and loss, the GRF finally claimed it's
first victory in battle. In the next few days the GRF filled in the
power vacuum left behind, by the Greek Government and military. By
March 10th the GRF had full control over all of Greece.

Date: March 12th, 2012.
Location: Northwestern Greece.

At this time the GRF has established a strong dominance over Greece, or
what they now call Greekan. News of GRF conquering Greece was a large
shock to the world. Not only did it strike a blow to the world economy,
but also a physical blow to the EU. While the EU scrambled to recover
from this total failure, the US saw the GRF as a threat to its allies
and launched an immediate counter attack from near by bases. Spending
millions of dollars doing so. This new campaign infuriated Chinese debt
holders whom decided that if their debtor would not pay his debts then
they would make him pay his debts. On March 12th a convoy sent from a US
military base to resupply a strike force plunging deep into GRF forces
was suddenly attacked.

The first warning was the sound of  jets. We knew... We knew there was gonna be no Aerial escort, but only until the road was completely ablaze with napalm and men where fleeing
from their cars on fire did we know that we were doomed. I was fortunate
enough to not be riding in a vehicle that got hit. I immediately dove
out of my truck and noticed the Chinese J-10's flying back to an
airfield somewhere. A few seconds after that the Type-98's and Dragon
tanks rolled down the hills. I knew there was going to be no fighting
back. So I fled. ~ Private Marc Kalt.

This sudden attack was only a sign of what was to come. The United States,
panicking, sent a diplomatic envoy to China immediately. They were not
granted an audience with the Emperor, or any representative. The United
States did not know where to turn from there. They brought their
Military up to high alert, and started homeland-war-time protocols. F-35
Raptor patrols became a common occurrence.

On March 17th, a Chinese
Navy was spotted heading to towards Washington state. US Intel reported
that the Chinese navy planned to sail into the Juan De Fuca strait and
send a detachment down into Puget Sound then an attack would be made on
Seattle.

The United States is now stuck in a Two Front war with little help.
This is a Historical Chapter in the History of the World. Only you can decide how it will end.

You might be asking yourself. Yet another C&C 3 mod that is supposed to fix C&C 4's errors? No. This is different. This is a "What If" situation. What if... when GDI Ioned Temple Prime they actually killed Kane. If GDI killed Kane then we have a far different plot line which I will begin to describe now.

During the Third Tiberium war GDI used an Ion Cannon to destroy Temple Prime. The heart of Nod. During the resulting explosion Kane was unable to flee and was among the countless people that were both justly (from GDI's perspective) and innocently slaughtered from the resulting explosion. As we all know the magnitude of this explosion attracted The Scrin. But a more unified and stronger Global Defense Initiative was able to hold back and repel the alien invaders. Once the Scrin and Nod threat was over GDI began focusing on controlling tiberium. They eventually succeeded reclaiming several Yellow Zones.  In the year 2056 the last member of the GDI Council finally retired. Leaving it up to a newer younger and more rash generation to lead GDI into a more prosperous future. Unfortunately this was not to be. These young leaders were too easily corrupted by greed and power. In the year 2063 the UN council decided that without any serious threat to global peace they would need to cut back some of GDI's power. Of course this didn't fly well with the new GDI Council. They decided to use their economic and political power to maintain their status. Since GDI was one of the few organizations that could legally harvest tiberium in large quantities they were extremely wealthy. The GDI Council proceeded to bribe and slightly Black Mail several of the people in the UN council. When it was time to vote the Nays out numbered the Yeas. This was the first time GDI used its power to alter World decisions. After several more years (2067) GDI began to suppress the peoples of most countries in various ways. This was extremely annoying to several world leaders who did not have the power to combat GDI. Especially France. In 2068 on March 3rd. A woman who was merely viewing a nearby tiberium field and showing her child how destructive and bad tiberium was. Was confronted by two GDI soldiers. The soldiers told her she was getting to close to GDI Operations and must return to her house immediately and stay in her house until she was relieved by GDI officials. The woman began pronouncing her rights as a french citizen to do what she was doing. The soldier simply said "We aren't french soldiers. We're GDI soldiers. We can do whatever the hell we want." The woman turned away to return to her home and was promptly shot in the back along with her child.
This incident (As GDI called it) infuriated the French President and French people, but the Irony was the nations of the world created this organization to protect them from national threats. Now it was the national threat. Also a nation could not go to war with GDI since they would lack the resources to do so.

In the year 2069 a man know only as Abel appeared on the political stage. He preached of over throwing the GDI regime that "Injustice can not reign forever and that reign must end by the people that injustice has persecuted!". He has been preaching similar messages through out Yellow zones.
Some rumors say that Kane has returned others say he is greater then Kane. Eventually in an Eastern Europe Yellow Zone Abel gathered with some trusted friends and several hundred militants. After much debate over a small dinner table they finally decided upon a name for their army. They decided to call it NOD. It pays homage to the previous Nod led by Kane, but it stands for something else. It stands for New Order Division. Although it may sound evil it is quite to the contrary. The New Order they have in mind is a world without GDI. Where a global organization does not replaces the power of nations. Currently NOD lacks any power to oppose GDI but several nations are on the brink of change, change that could bring the fall of GDI.

In the Year 2070 Abel declared to his followers that he would be going into exile. "It will be short and sweet and you will not have a chance to miss me." Afterwords he left civilization and went into a Red Zone and was not seen for several days. Several days as in being 40 days. He returned declaring on world-wide television "I have found GDI's greatest fear. My exile has proved great. They have been Forgotten but are no longer. These... beasts as they were once called have enlightened me. They have taught me what few can do if given enough time. Now! Behold! I present to you the Forgotten! Humans like you who where unfortunate enough to be close to our Hazardous Friend! (Meaning Tiberium) If a person had a horrible disease would you shun him and send him to places where you could not see him? Nay! You would definitely help this person! If you had the ability to help this person would you? Yes! I believe you would! The Forgotten are not much different and we CAN  help them and we WILL help them! Brothers and Sisters! Will you not help our fellow humans? You might be saying 'They are not humans too me!' but indeed they are. I could put you near Our Hazardous Friend and you too would look like them. Be not blinded by what GDI and Nod led your fathers to believe decades ago! This is a new generation! GDI has proven this! The night has come. GDI fears the night, since it knows not what happens in it. When I see the dawn I hope to see a new world... a New Order. Lead by a Division of people persecuted by a council of tyranny. Now I reveal to you NOD! The New Order Division! They... us... you! We will tear down this council of tyranny along with the help of our Forgotten Friends. And we shall and will preserve freedom and peace. As has not been seen for many a century. (Referring to the Pax Romana 200 years of peace during the Roman Empire.)
Now brothers and sisters. I echo now a person that was proclaimed a Prophet by thousands of people. Many a year ago.
'One Vision! One Purpose!' "

This ended Abel's first televised tirade. It gave the push needed to change nations on the brink of change. In the following years Abel traveled the world gathering members to his Division. Constructing new vehicles to protect his Division and slay the Tyranny. The Night has come.

This ends my plot Idea for a C&C 3 mod I may begin working on in the future. Although I have no experience with modding I hope to learn much and produce a quality mod... If I make one.
