I just thought that since we are no mod anymore, we don't have anything lost here.
(more or less confirmed by other (not moddb) UT-sites which didn't post our news anymore)

our indoor-engine is still in development.
we hope it will be ready soon, but currently our main programmer hast a lot to do at his "RL-work" ;)

It's not that we've just started developing the engine.
Our engine programmer knuth has been working on it since we've started the mod!
Graphical, it is already far better than UT and I think even UT2k3!
The only things we have to recreate are the dungeons.
We've got our own (very flexible) terrainengine, so we can trash our outdoor levels. (which werent that much)
All in all, the engine change will not delay our development time, and if it does, it'll surely be worth it!
(you have to note that the engine change doesn't only astonish the users, it also motivates the whole team!)
Indeed, the engine not only hast better graphics&physics, all the gameplay relevant possibilities are tremendous ;)
Especially our QuestOMatik-tool really helpes us out here...
I'll say it clear: Ultima Unreal is stopped for the UT engine!
We are developing our own engine, which simply is better than UT.
Since we don't want any copyright problems with Epic (because of the Unreal) and Origin/EA because of the Ultima, we've changed our name.
Besides that, we've also changed our concept.
We know have many races, and a lot of other more features!
You users only profit from this engine change, because you don't need UT, get better graphics and gameplay!
But currently we can't show you new screenshots of the engine.
The reason is:
Since we've just changed the engine, there are currently no screenshots avialable!
At current state the engine is already quite far developed, but our engine programmer knuth is implementing basic (and very important) features like multiple choice dialoges, inventory system, etc. and so he turned off all the shading features. (it's easier for him to work this way)
So stay tuned...the engine is getting better and better every day!
(we already have a first internal walkthrough, with multiple choice dialogues and stuff like that :) )

Currenty, these are pics of our own renderer, which will replace the UT-renderer. (if everything works out right, but it shouldn't be that kind of a problem, like our headcoder said ;) )

Just kidding, I know I've said it a lot of times by now (f.ex. in the news) but I can only say it again: there're realy things going on right now, which are positive for the whole project, in meaning of extensions which you people might not even have thought about :)
And as soon as the time has come, we 'll tell you about it, but we don't want to promise something what we can't integrate in the mod.

I don't want to tell too much, but we've changed some things on the engine, so we have much better effects than original ut!
I believe that you won't see the edges because of the mesh-smoothing from ut.
The models we make are much more highpoly than the original ut models.... we can't use more!

We are planing to release UU Episode 1 for UT...
Episode 2 will probably be on Darkness or Ut2k3 or U2.
The classic Singleplayercomponent istn't the problem - it's a part of Unreal1 and we're working with UT so we have to make everything new anyway.
(or have you seen Playerclasses such as Wizzard or Fighter in Unreal /UT? )
