Well,i found a solution for the CTD's and the freezing, when i installed this game for first time with this mod, my specs: win 7 32 bits, 3 gb de ram, phenom x4 b.e.. it cant even load the first scene of the gam. I format my pc, and installed wint 64bits, and got it, i play the game as a decent game, without any problems..of course that im very poor of ram at this game, but for some reason, the architecture of my OS, determines the best way to play it.

Got the same problem, my specs
Amd phenom X4 b.e. 3.4 Ghz
3 Gb Ram
ATI XFX 4850 1 GB DDR3
It takes to long to load, and it crashe's to desktop after the game begins...
It is weird, cause i play games like conviction with all presets high and i have no problem.
what i happening ? ram problem ?
