You'll want to set up some defences - mines are a quick and dirty option, or frames with blaster bots for point defence for a more long term choice. Later on, you can use explosive walls and more to take this further. Instead of upgrading the builder you'll want to build a bigger ship around it from frame that can take more fire and do more. I'd suggest messing around with Shipyard Mode a bit to see some of the things you can do, or watch some of the youtube videos.
They should have a slider at the side as in a regular window. Could you take a screenshot and either send it to me or post it on the forum? It ought to be easier to see the issue then.
There's still some work to be done with help systems, though everything is described in campaign mode, not everything is obvious. Rotating parts can be achieved by holding right click while dragging them out. The thruster upgrade can only be accessed with cheat mode and will likely be modified before it goes in the main game.Text boxes do scroll... but there shouldn't be many that have too much text in. Fullscreen mode is in the usual place, in options.
Sorry to hear it - could you post the crash dump found in your documents/savedgames/etc. to the bug report forum plus the details of when exactly the crash happens and it'll likely be fixed in no time.
Sorry to disappoint! However, I have been thinking about running a little competition to give away a few copies. Entrants would design ships/bases using the free Shipyard Mode and send in the designs. The best would receive a copy of the full game and the design would be put into the game for enemies to use. Get practising if you're interested!
Been trying to replicate this and can't so far - do you have a save that you can cause the crash at will? If you could upload it, that would make it much easy to track down.
If you could post details on the forum - such as when it happens and if the crashes have anything in common, that would be really helpful to getting the problem fixed.
It might be that the frame is placed but not yet built. If it doesn't have the blue glowing hardpoints it needs to be constructed with the builder's red drill.
Any problems you have, post them on the forum, it's much more likely they'll be fixed. If you upload your saves somewhere for me, that'll make it easy to fix.
Can you make the minimising crash happen on purpose? If so, would you mind sending me some instructions on how to do it? I'd like to get that bug killed. The random crashes are dropping with each build - the particle system is being redone to minimise those problems, though that process is not complete yet. Please, if you spot any bugs, post them on the forum, they're much more likel to get fixed that way.
If it makes you feel better, most likely it'll go up when it reaches Beta ;)
Think of it as a low price in exchange for beta testing and bug reporting, if you like!
It seems to be that some people are entirely unafflicted by crashes, but some get them all the time. Cores shouldn't be a problem - the machines it's tested on are dual and quad core and there is some multi core optimisation. Could you post further details in the bug report forum. Getting these problems gone quickly is greatly important.
No worries - you've paid money, you absolutely deserve something you can enjoy. To that end, if you know when the crashes occur, just message me or post in the forum, it'll be fixed in the forthcoming patch.
Apologies that you're not having the best experience - there should be a patch out within a day or so that fixes a bunch of these issues. Please bear with it, this is unfortunately still only an Alpha release after all.
Also, there is now a bug report forum. Any details on bugs you find would certainly be appreciated.
Warning for non English language gamers - there's currently a bug where saved data doesn't read correctly, causing a crash if the system language is not set to English. Fix will be in the next path, but until then, changing the setting to English while playing fixes the issue.
Looks like it's off to a good start - do you have any special features planned that can't be found elsewhere, or do you plan to simply make it as good a genre piece as possible?
Intel Onboard graphics cards seem to be unable to run XNA in full featured mode. I'm looking into finding a way round this, but for now if the game doesn't start, and that's the kind of card you have, that's why.
I just downloaded BF - honestly the games aren't that similar, beyond the perspective and setting. Just two takes on an idea. OreSome allows ships to be fixed together during gameplay, and has a dynamically generated single player world, BF is more of a usual RTS. I intend to sell OreSome, but I'm hoping people will think it's worth it.

Not plans exactly, but inklings. Monogame would be the likely avenue - but there's no guarantees on when or even if, I'm afraid.

Sure, when 0.51 goes up, it'll go up with the standalone version too.
Basically, yeah.
A good idea in fact - but it'll be a while before that sort of thing can go in.

There isn't, but I'll pop one in for the next build, likely up tonight.

I can only suggest contacting Desura - they should be able to sort it out
Nothing's changed on this end, it should be fine. Try reinstalling, then if that doesn't work post details in the forum of exactly what goes wrong.

There's more to come on that count, don't worry. It won't be instant, but as more is added, more help with be too.

Is this still true of the latest version? If so, could you post any details you can in the bug report forum?

Must be some big pockets the player character has, if you can fit a ship in them :)
It's possible. The Guide that's up on the website will definitely be in game at some point, but tooltips may occur too.
If you're running a Integrated Graphics card and this doesn't work, let me know.
