Running with Rifles

Game review

A simple top down shooter/wargame, with simple looks and simple gameplay that still can entertain me for hours.

3079

Game review

I first was kind of put off by the game when i first read about it in a forum where someone presented it. It looked very cheap and inconsistent to me at first.
Than i saw there was a demo available so i thought, why not try it before judging it. And than i was hooked... you could say 3079 is the reason i found Desura, as Desura seemed like the best option for buying the game.

What i like about it is the open world approach, the random loot, the quake-style combat, the NPC interaction/trading and the constant combat going on around you, even if you're currently hiding out somewhere in a bunker.
You'll have to put up with a minimalistic random quest system, terribad graphics, weird overall design/colour choice and rather rudimentary sounds.

I think the best way to destribe it is a first person sci-fi rogue-like with optional multiplayer. Great for wasting a few minutes (or hours) a day but certainly the wrong choice for people who are into deep stories, character interaction and nice graphics/souns.

With that in mind i give it a rather high rating, but i have to admit in comparison with many other new releases i would've to judge it harder, but i can't cause it's just too much fun.

Wanderlust: Rebirth

Game review

I found this small gem a few hours ago while browsing through Desura for a cheap coop game to enjoy with my mates and i am more than satisfied. You get a lot of entertainment for a small price.

The Pixelart is simple but functional and nice to look at.
The Combat is based on a simple and easy to learn system but still stays fun and challenging, discouraging button mashing and awarding timed blocks, counters and support skills.
It's probably nothing for people who need great graphics to enjoy a game, but fans of old topdown console RPGs will have a lot of fun, solo or with friends.
