Wanderlust: Rebirth is an online 4 player co-op retro arcade-action RPG. Wanderlust: Rebirth offers more content than most professionally-funded games including story and survival modes, online high-scores, over 40 enemies types, 15 boss battles (including 4 secret bosses), over 50 unique skills between 4 uniquely crafted character classes, 3 different difficulty modes, 3 different endings, AND MUCH MUCH MORE!
This game is pretty amazing and not something seen too often nowadays. It's pretty hard and throws you right into the action, but it's still completely possible. The pass/fail system on normal difficulty really allows you to better yourself for next time in order to get that 100% to truly advance to the next level. The game play itself is smooth and there's hardly a dull moment. The ending of normal difficulty is fantastic, made me want to play through again on epic. Epic difficulty itself is a completely new experience where the difficulty gets ramped up even higher and everything about how you played before needs revision. The extra touches to the game make it absolutely worth it. Crawl mode is great for a change of pace and as an easier way to earn those extra tokens for epic gear and the secret bosses are always fun to try and find if no one gives away the secret. Most importantly, the developers really care about the game and work on improving it wherever there are faults. During the first month or two after its release, I was able to contact the developers and aid them in fixing imbalances, bugs, and suggest things for new content. They rationally took everything in and built more of their game around other player's suggestions and worked quickly as just about every day I downloaded a new patch excited about the improvements. Really, this game is quite under-appreciated I'm assuming either because of its graphics, reliance on word of mouth publicity, or because of its price. But price is no longer an issue with the December sale, and if you can get past 8-bit graphics, you'll really be in store for an amazing experience, especially with a group of friends. Hopefully as the game picks up, there will be more of an opportunity for more pick up groups.
Wanderlust: Rebirth is outstanding! If you are looking for a challenging dungeon crawler this is perfect. :D
It's an all-around beautiful game. It was fun to see the whole project expand and develop throughout the years.
Sprites are crisp, animations and engine are as smooth as marble, and I've always been a fan of the soundtrack. And there's just so much replay value -- a game that after you beat once, you'd want to go grab a few friends and play through it again.
The only complaint now is that there are few people on at times, but hopefully the new deal will bring in some new people because I'd hate to see this game just disappear without putting up some kind of fight.
This game is very unique and interesting it deserves 10/10.
Really great game, feels like an old SNES game. Great and retro.
This game is awesome. With such a diverse range of characters and enemies. Keeps me amused for hours on end. A game that you can play for 5 mins or for 5 hours. Crawl mode for an endless battle would have to be my favourite mode.
50% off means its a bargain for the amount of gameplay you get.
This game is friggin amazing. I've been following it since the beginning, and it has truly turned out to be a unique masterpiece. You all need to buy it right now, seriously.
The game is a masterpiece in every way!
