PM me for details please.
Research is in the standard research submenu (click the microspcope at the top of the ingame screen). Note that in the current version only 2 of the research submenus are actually filled with content. Starbases are only deployable in deep space (eg gravity wells without planets etc).

No we are still working on it. Everything is going terribly slow but we are still on it :)
Maybe we will have something for you at the end of the year.
/maddy
You mean the Fortresses ? They are meant to be deep space installations, not planetary defence postions. You got the 'Necklace of Artemis' for that :)
/maddy
Civilian outposts are non-combatants and therefore can not be attacked. They generate supply for your scoutships and some are capturable by your invasion ships (the same as for the planetary invasions).

Beta 1.11 patch released, see above and included readme for details !
The patch will upgrade your 1.1 beta version to 1.11 beta.

BETA 1.1 up. Download after the files are authed by the admins. Have fun and give some feedback (e.g. in the new forum here on ModDB) please !
/maddy
I just opened a forum on this site (see above). Please post feedback there. Your input is highly appreciated. You can also use the forum to discuss certain Mod and LogH related issues with others.

I just wanted to inform you that our 'performance booster' is being released in the next few days. Essentially it is already releasable but there are some points on the 'wish-list' that i want to fix first. We will release a 1.1 Beta version of the completely overhauled mod. There will be no new content yet but gaming mechanics have been revisited, so the "freezing" during late game should not appear anymore. Also the A.I. should now expand further than it did before.
Also we have given up the idea of separate music and game mods so the classical music will be integrated in the actual SotS Mod from now on.
Thank you for your patience.

The plan is as follows:
First we will release a patch for the current version dealing with performance issues. The problem was not easy to solve but with lots of effort our programmer has found a solution. The patch will be ready within the next few weeks.
After that the mod will be ported to the most recent version of entrenchment and we will (or at a later point) include additional research trees for GE and FPA. There you will be able to improve ships and research 'special tactics' like minefields and zephyr particle generators. This will happen around this summer.
I am also considering opening a forum here, on Mod Db for direct feedback.

Yes, this is a known issue and probably engine related. We are working on it but it seems to be a severe problem. Your system should be fine to run the mod.
/maddy
No, you need the newest entrenchment too. Installation notes are inside the downoadable Mod archives.
/maddy
It has not been tested and is not officially supported with diplomacy. It only should work with Entrenchment and SoaSE. Btw. the MOD is FULLY COMPATIBLE also with the latest SoaSE and Entrenchment 1.05, just copy the mod folders + music mod to the appropriate Entrenchment 1.05 Mod folder.
Also we think to have found a solution for the constant crashes during prolonged game time people were complaining about. We are currently working on a 'Hotfix' to solve that issue. I will get back to you on that soon.
/maddy
AI is quiet aggressive for me as well. And 'to simply remove' something won't solve anything. Supply is a key factor and we cannot simply change hardcoded game mechanics from the original game.
well, it is still a beta and more research will be added in the next version.
We know of these issues and they are being discussed on our forums at modcraft.net
/maddy
I would also think it has something to do with the supply mechanics which are based directly on the original sins culture mechanics.
Thanks, but it's not just me who made this project possible. Especially renner and Terraziel did a great deal of work too.

BETA released !
You can download it after processing so stay tuned it could appear in the download section any time.
We actually release 2 Mods. One being the actual 'Sea of the Stars' Mod and the other containing a selection of classical music. Both Mods can be used separately but we recommend using them both at the same time - see readme for installation details.
/maddy
Be patient. I wrote a very long text and it is already posted. However it still needs to be processed by the moddb admins/database before appearing here. Just come back after some time. :)
/maddy
Btw. to answer that question in advance: the release version requires both actual versions of soase AND entrenchment installed. It IS an 1.041 entrenchment mod in the technical sense and has been tested on XP 32bit and Win7 64bit. /maddy
Pre-release video online. Watch after it finished compiling. News update soon to follow.
/maddy
Expect something 'big' soon :)
Yes, it is still in development.
Hi, if you wanna help go to our forum please :)
Most imperial ships had the ability to 'conquer' planets in earlier test versions but we took that out. Alliance and Empire have dedicated 'assault/invasion' ships for that purpose now. This seems a bit non- canon but it makes sense gameplay-wise.
/maddy
Supply is in testing right now so now final comments on this.
Yes Music is in, a whole selection of classical pieces. Probably as a separate download on release.
Yes, since we will have starbases in it and some other entrenchment specific elements. I do not really understand your frustration here. Entrenchment is under 10 dollars, a very nice update to the original game and available via impulse with paypal (no creditcard needed)...
