I understood that this game was about the sea age in general, so from the start of the english and dutch navy in de beginning of the 1600's, till the end of the pirate area/beginning of the french revolution? And that the game spans the all the intressting places of war? Cuz than it would be the channel, the northsea, the scandinavian sees, the cost of spain, the mediterrainan sea, the indean seas, south africa, madagaskar, etc.
Or is it a game just about the Caribbean?
The East indian company (VOC, Verenigde Oost-indische Compangie, is the dutch name if this) was mainly active along the coast of south africa, Indonesia and the philpines. And of course the coast of holland and the channel.
did the us already had that flag at the time? And where is the flag of the Dutch East Indian Company? The biggest sea company of the 17 century? Also it might be interesting that the dutch had 5 admiralities at the time, not just one national one. If you want to be historical correct. Will you be making dutch ships also? Since the dutch where once the greatest sea navy on the planet. They have a very typical design.
I think the contrast inside the grass tile is to high which makes it hard to distinguish foreground objects from the background. (That is the point that if you look trough narrow eyes, you can't see the difference anymore)

Hey guys i have to say your game looks beautiful! Nice designs of the ships. great graphics effects and sounds! I tried the demo, but I really couldn't get the hang of the game. I could be me of course but I played the level with the lowest difficulty several times. Every time I got killed without destroying any ship. I had no idea in which mode to stay and I also didn't get any speed feedback. I think I will like this game very much when it's finished, but right now it wasn't really playable.
I agree, the old head/face/hair has much more charm and brutality to my taste. Or lets say the old face looks more like a real hero and not just some sidekick.
I quite possible, since they made progress on sea-battles with the latest games empire en napoleon tw.

With going from 4x4 cells to 1x1, doesn't this mean that the pathfinder now is 16 times as expensive with calculations?
