I have been wanting to make some cinematic physics for a real purpose for some time, but the main problem was lack of knowledge of what valve used to make their cinematic physics things
I found Blast Code(google it)
unfortunately, the trial version won't work with Maya PLE
so at the moment the closest thing i can get to real cinematic physics is using Havok physics in 3ds max, which sucks because it's hard as hell to get the pieces to look realistic
then again, i suck at modeling things :P
