Also FYI the name of this game has been lovingly changed to Arcbond RPG to better represent the story. The Arcbond is the last remaining shard of the Sun and it is being protected by the Fire Academy since they recovered it shortly after The Shattering.

The Shattering of the Sun was a near-apocalyptic tragedy, caused accidentally by power-hungry mages who destabilized the Sun's core after drawing too much energy from it for their spells. In the Sun's place now is a Void, a black hole that has cast the planet in eternal night and set loose creatures from The Void who hunt down any remaining source of energy.

I just posted a video of a base building test. The basic buildings and harvesters all work well and the game is coming together really quickly. A demo should be available in the spring.

This game is not dead at all! I have been working so hard on the mechanics and design that I don't have any time to blog about the games progress. Sands of Osiris is built using JMonkey 3 and all unit, item, and ability data is stored in an external file just like my first game, Baneforge. Think garrys mod with voxels. The first game script I am writing is a rebirth of the Cat and Mouse custom maps from starcraft and warcraft. I have a playable demo now and I am now working on reliability/durability (crash bugs on certain PCs, not my own) and art. So it's in playable alpha.

I cant seem to figure out why it won't boot up for you all. I am running Windows 8 64 bit with Java 7 64 bit and it works fine. It is possible that it isn't compatible with 32 bit, but I don't have a 32 bit machine to test it on and, apparently, since java is a VM, it isn't supposed to matter.

You are indeed able to edit things with the asset editor. Instead of having to code items or abilities, I took a hint from the Starcraft and Warcraft series and allowed for parameterized items/spells/units. As long as you have purchased Baneforge and have made an account to log into the game, it knows to use the assets in the file called 'myAssetBook' in you game folder. Without logging in, the game only uses the default asset book that ships with the game (which I add more things to with each release!) Also, you were right about the store- it was still in test mode at that time. Now, it has been completely activated.

Thanks! I have had a ton of fun playing with my friends on multiple occasions. Every time we play together, they give me awesome ideas and tweaks and I code them in on my second monitor as we are playing, haha. Check out 0.82, the combat is a bit more streamlined! I still want to add more items and spells, but that just takes time and careful planning in the Asset Editor.
