Guys in the download of the game there is link to report bugs. The mod creators only use this site as a place for people to download the mod. They spend no more time here than it takes to set up the download. If you have any problems use that link!
For the first I have no clue. But for the ruler problem you need to choose a character to play as from the Rebellion on. Then go back to the main menu. The ruler should be gone and the game should work.
If you use the mod it is the only date that pops up. Don't click on the CoB mod. Only the main AGOT.
For anyone currently playing the mod, if you are using 1.4 you will have bugs galore. Ever since CK2 updated to 2.7.1 the mod has been out of date. If you really want to play the game, you are going to have to use AGOT ver 1.3.2 with the beta 2.6.3. The modders are working on the new update but it will still be some time yet.
IMPORTANT
And when the new version comes out keep in mind that the mod creators have a link in the download folder that they want people to report bugs at. Don't post bugs here, USE THAT LINK.
As it is now if your CK2 game is updated you are just gonna have to wait. Since 2.7.0.2 was a weird semi-patch there isn't a beta for it. And yes the main modders are working on it.
Float the idea to a couple of the submod modders (Sinstar comes to mind). As it is now that isn't something that I believe the main content creators will do out of hand. Keep in mind that at the very least the Boltons are either indifferent or hate the Starks. The Skagosi have killed at least one Stark in a rebellion since the Conquest.
The main mods have said on their main site ( Citadel.prophpbb.com ) that anything before the Doom of Valyria is never going to be worked on.
"HEY LISTEN" (sorry couldn't resist.)
This isn't the main site so if you have any questions go to Citadel.prophpbb.com . And they give you a link in the folder on where they want you to report bugs.
And here is some info from our great overlords.
From Knuckey
"If you are experiencing blank event pop ups you haven't got the correct version of the base game, please update to 2.7.0.2 to fix this.
It also seems many people are having issues loading the mod, so I'll start this thread to get all reports in the same place so we can try and better tell what the problem is.
This is only for CTDs whilst loading the mod, if you have any gameplay related bugs/CTDs please report in the bug reports section: Citadel.prophpbb.com
Now if you do have a CTD on load please check the following:
- Make sure CK2 is patched to the correct version. (2.7.0.2)
- Check vanilla loads properly and that the checksum is WHCB. If you have the wrong checksum you need to re-install CK2. If you have trouble with this please visit CK2 tech support: Forum.paradoxplaza.com ... ch-Support
- Check the mod is installed in <your documents>\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\A Game of Thrones\
- De-select/untick any other mods/submods in the launcher
If this is all fine please try a reinstall of CK2 and any DLCs, then delete the mod and reinstall that.
If you are still having issues starting up the mod it is likely your system does not have enough memory. In general we recommend at least 4GB of memory on a 64bit operating system.
More info from A-D on the Paradox forum, the problem maybe due to DLCs and not having enough memory:"
"A-D wrote:
EK has had that problem since a few updates, the mod essentially is feature-heavy and requires alot more RAM than the 2gb that Vanilla CK2 requires, for a while EK was in terms of memory-footprint the biggest mod. 32bit OS, such as XP are limited in RAM to 3.3gb, if the mod during load requires more, it crashes because it runs out of memory. So 4gb and above is essentially recommended for big mods at this point, this includes AGOT.
For a fix, there are only partial fixes. Turn off all graphic DLC stuff, Units, Flags, Portraits and start the mod. If it runs, you can play AGOT in vanilla mode. After this you can try to load up the mod by activating more and more graphical DLC until you get the Runtime Error again, if so then the amount of the last successful load is as much as you can have active at once. The heavier the mod gets, i.e. the more features and such are added, the less likely it becomes this will work if you have a 32bit OS or not enough RAM in case of a 64bit OS.
As an example, before the Essos update, i could run AGOT with every DLC released active, now i have to turn off essentially everything except the african portraits to get it to run.
Please note, this is only applicable if you get a Runtime Error, otherwise the problem might be elsewhere."
Are you using Steam? If you are you right click Crusader Kings 2 in the list. Version 2.6.3 should be at the very bottom of the properties list. If not I don't know what to tell you. Go to Citadel.prophpbb.com for more help. It is the main site.
From a post by Blackninja9939 (one of the main modders) on the main mod site.
"As Monks and Mystics just came out your games will have auto-updated to patch 2.7 obviously this is a problem as the current version of the mod was made for 2.6.3
To solve this you will need to backdate your CK2 to do so follow these simple steps:
Go into Steam
Right click Crusader Kings 2
Click properties then betas
From the drop down menu select 2.6.3
Wait for your game to update
You can now play again
Yes an update will come out, no I don't know when and yes making posts about it will get a sarcastic reply from me :D"
Reminder to everyone, none of the main modders ever check the comment section on this site. Posting problems, suggestions, and questions here is making a gamble that someone (a person who isn't really involved with the mod at that) will take pity and respond. If you want your voice heard on this mod go the Citadel.
Just keep working at it man. Make as many friends as possible in the Riverlands. Try and fabricate a claim with your councilor. Or the CK2 true route, just murder everyone in the main family till just children are left and then make your bid.
None are required, but they do flesh out some of the features if you have them.
Nah I'm not in the loop. But if you go to their main site Citadel.prophpbb.com then you can browse around and see what they are doing.

I thinks it is a random event when they are children. However I think that if you are a playing group that can disinherit children that might (keyword there) be an option for that.
Just put up how to return to previous version above you.

Just follow the directions on the site and it should be enough. As for the DLC no they are not necessary. However The mod creators did make it so that the more DLC that you have the more of the World of Ice and Fire was open to you. No Horse Lords means no Dothraki. The Republic lets the Free Cities be playable and the res add more flavor to the rest of the game. Though Sunset Invasion is much more upsetting when they have dragons as well.
Does your computer reach the minimum requirements that they suggest? If so then the only thing I can suggest is that there might have been a problem in the download.
Anyway here is the page with the system requirements and if you search around the site it is based on you can find a bug report forum.
Do you mean the Ruler Designer? Or just in general you are at game start and then you crash? Wither way it sounds like you might have conflicting versions.
Hey guys exciting news! I was going thru the citadel and noticed that the main thread for this version that there is a new version! It looks like it has a lot of new mechanic changes and bug fixes. Here is the link to AGOT 1.1.1!
I do use More Decisions but I usually use it more as a inheritance manager and to increase cash flow.
So far my current balance of sub mods lets me play a couple years before a crash, then I just close Steam and then reopen it all up again. Rinse and repeat. Not the greatest set up but I am playing the game I want to.
OKAY PEOPLE HERE IS ANOTHER PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.
The mod creators DO NOT CHECK THIS SITE FOR BUG REPORTS. If you post here you are expecting another uninitiated player to know how to help you. I know I cant beyond the most basic of checks.
What version of CK2 you're playing. It should be 2.5.2 for AGOT 1.1 .
If you have any other mods active. Even tiny submods can mess with AGOT in weird ways right now. So check before every game that you ONLY have this mod clicked.
If this doesn't help you then I have to assume that something went wrong in downloading the mod and you are gonna have to re-download the mod.
If you have a problem that is not resolved by those check I ask that you first check the site below, THE OFFICIAL BUG REPORT FORUM, before you post a report here.
You are using Steam for CK2 right? if you are I do know how to help you.
In your library list you are gonna right click on CK2. It should bring up a menu that has Properties on the bottom. In the new window that pops up you are gonna look for the Betas tab. Then you are gonna click on the button that says what version you have and then chose "None..." After that close the window and wait a bit for the game to update and then you should be up to date.
Please read through the comments before you post if you have a problem. In a big post a little bit below I give some quick tips and the site of the actual bug report forum.
Check my big post below you for some rough trouble shooting and the actual bug report site.
Look at my post below and you have an option at least.

If your game works perfectly unmodded then we do not need to know your machine's stats.
First are you sure that you are using the correct versions of CK2 and AGOT. This is CK2 2.5.2 and AGOT 1.1 . Next is to make sure that it is in the correct folder in the Paradox files. (the Mod folder). Now if all of those are correct then I think you most likely had a problem during the download and will probably need to just re-download the mod.
And if you want faster help go to Citadel.prophpbb.com
Hey man in regards to your troubles with the AGOT mod you might wanna go directly to their main site. Just go through the bug reports or create an account and start a new thread for your problem.
The Mod creators usually only use this site as a mass distribution site.
