Those are the R1 models with the R2 models as silhouettes. A teaser to compare size differences. The original R1 models most likely won't be in R2

cel shading is refering to the light a mesh receives. This is about (fatboy) outlines, which are oftenly used when doing celshaded objects.
So, misleading title but good tutorial anyways :)
I had to learn it a few years ago and I could pretty much type blind more or less perfectly. Over the years I somewhat found my own system though (for instance, I tend to use my right ring finger to use the enter key or backspace key)

Did the desura invitation thing gave you the idea for this? Just a wild guess ^_^
What? I don't get it.
We would love to make use of Desura but we probably can't due to NNK being based off of someones other IP (Naruto obviously). There is a slim chance that having NNK on Desura might results in a legal conflict with the actual license holders since Desura is not only about free mods but also about buying indie games (even though NNK is 100% free of charge)

Great result. Perhaps adding a tiny bit of grey hair makes him even more believable.
The engine uses .dds textures .wad ones are only there for Hammer and legacy reasons.
Also the modeled geometry doesn't have to be the same, its just not solid if it differs. Modeled geometry can be far more detailled yet you need simple bsp geometry for collision purposes
Steam is the only legal way of playing Half-Life these days so its the only thing we support.

We're not paticipating in the released category but in the unreleased one. We were unreleased in 2009 so thats what matters. It only shows up in the released list because the mods status is set to released in the profile.

Almost everyone from our team knows the goldsource engine inside out and in the beginning it was meant to be a small fun project made by a few friends ... we never expected it to become this big.
Besides, anyone can pull something like this off on source but only a handful of people can do it on goldsource :D

most of the current effects and sprites are still legacy material from 1.2.x and earlier versions.
They'll probably all (or at least some of them) be replaced or improved in 1.3 final.

Found out why they're missing ... our coder took them out to test something and I just happened to have the build without them when I took the screenshot.
The mouth is 100% animated so the animation itself will blend, the eyes are a subskin that will just stich on/off
Though I can't really see "true" VR happening anytime soon but head tracking instantly popped into my mind while reading this (remember that video with the wiimote used the other way around? :D )
Looks good but one thing .. white fog (distance) on a relatively dark sky = bad
