Jedi and sundry...

This mod revived an old tired game and made it once more the center of my attention. My respect and regards to it's creators, both in tribute to it's craftsmanship, and in thanks for the many ...many hours of pleasure it has provided.

The mission at Zhar? I presume you mean with ace azameen?

Follow the instructions carefully until you dock....be ready, as soon as you have the shuttle break southwest with both ships, away from the station. Make for the belt in the south center of the map. If fighters are on you block with the corellian, the shuttle has no balls.

Dodge around the edge of the map, avoid the open midspace... or don't, why not fly out there and see what happens?

Or.. you could follow the fringes of the map, blocking and scouting with the corellian while the shuttle ducks from belt to belt. The objective is to get the shuttle to the jump point near the northeast corner, (there is a small green arrow on the map). Once it is away the corellian can jump from anywhere.

good luck

How I got this to work with windows 7 64x

Installed FoC and 1.1 update

Installed AotR2.05 full, 800 + megs into the ...\FoC\Mods folder. If it is not there, make it. Can't make a folder? go play checkers.

Installed AotR 2.5Beta english to my ...\Foc Folder, as it writes some material to your basic data folder. This is important. Read the txt included in the 2.5 download.

Run the Vista64x update available from lucasarts for FoC. It works it's mojo by removing incompatabilities in your root FoC\Data folder with the graphics mojo of your windows seven system.

Rename the Data File in your Root FoC folder "data2" and transfer the data folder from Foc\Mod\AotR2.05 up two levels into the FoC folder.

Run the Vista64x again. This time it will be removing the incompatabilities in the Aotr2.5 data folder, as it is occupying it's target space.

Move the Aotr data folder back down two levels from ...FoC to ...FoC\Mods\Aotr2.05

Rename "data2" back to "data"

Write a .bat for aotr 2.5
Go to "start" then type "notepad" into the search bar.Open the program that appears. Copy and paste the line "swfoc MODPATH=Mods\AotR2.05" onto the notepad, no quotes. Save it. Important, name the file aotr.bat, that .bat part is crutial, the aotr not as much. "save as..." then "save as type - all files". If you do not it will save as a useless .txt file .Store it in your root FoC directory. It will not work if you put it elsewhere.

Some observations...

In the Balzia asteroid belt I was defending my imperial lvl one space station against the rebs when a pirate fleet spaced in out of nowhere about 90 seconds into the battle.. It took out my space station and then attacked the rebs. What was it doing there? When I retook the system the same pirate fleet showed up to destroy the reb base... Something similar in Veragesso Asteroids.

Shield strength: Occasionally attacking corvettes I notice that their shields seem to vary in strength, and I do not mean the "all power to shields ability" Sometimes a collection of star destroyers that have tractored a corellian corvette simply cannot reduce it's shields without using their own heavy fire. Other times the same corvette in the same situation is meat for the grinder.

Twining ships: Speaking of twins, occasionally I will have two ships where there was only one. usually the clone disappears shortly, but not always, and it has never stayed in my fleet after the battle.

Is there a mod guide to be found anywhere? i.e: an outline of the new factors in play, etc? if so where could I find it?

I hope these comments are constructive, and look forward to far to many hours of enjoyment as a product of your creation. My girlfriend hates you, but I think you are great.

Thanks again for all of the fine work. I've noticed a couple of posts forecasting an update in the near future, but as I am new to your mod I do not know if that is something to expect, or if it is already out... any word you can share on this?

Best regards...

Compliment : Incredible. Amazing. Astounding. Awesome. Great mod. If I was a pair of hot blonde twin bikini models I would reward you as you so well deserve. Instead I shall just tip my hat and say thanks.

Comment: As a GC fan I was pleased to see the variety of galactic maps, but I am left with questions. Occasionally the AI does not seem to be that interested in expansion, which makes it "all to easy" to simply do and end run around him to win over the majority of the galaxy. In Birth of the reb(90) for example, I have played as the rebs, and sent my droids to recover tech from the empire, only to find them still only on thier one world may weeks in. Meanwhile the Black sun owns Anaxes, Corulag, etc... With Han Solo, I can run out to the four corners of the galaxy to set up rebel bases on Yavain, Dantoine etc... and still no expansion from the empire...

Playing the same GC as the empire, by the time I have claimed every world out in the core and northern regions, (and logistically too, with garrisons, not a skip and steal conquest), the rebs have perhaps four or five worlds, and the Black sun a few more, but in the long run how could their economies contend?

Income: The starting income on some maps seems to alter as I restart. With Birth of the Reb(90) for eg. on hard, playing rebellion, I start with 100,000 credits, or 40,000, and the empire and black sun get 0. Is this intentional?

Dark Saber: I've seen the comments on the reasoning behind placing so many imperial forces in the core, and that is great, but do they ever come expanding outward? Or must I go to them?

Best regards....
