I love where your going with this, but as a intermediate C# programmer, I don't think I quite fit this article. Yet, I'm sure by the middle of this series I'll be thanking you so much for providing me with such great information. By the way, I think it's funny how the differences in length of the different languages vary so much. I think C# is just perfect where it stands on length and complexity.

Wow, looks great! I love the way how you guys have all of these little details that you get really in def with and explain your little tricks on those little details. I can't wait to see you mesh every one of those little details into one big product that will be so perfect in every which way. Keep it up!

Man, 10 million polygons is even more than I want to start to think of! Yet, I have to say that the sculpted looks better than the normal mapped one to me. So, for posters, game boxes, etc., I'd use the sculpted, but for the actually game, I'd definitely used the normal mapped one.

Great idea to really get the feel of an indie game, and it also promotes indie game companies (who definitely need all the promotion they can get). The only problem is that in most games (pretty much all non-sport related) this kind of solution is extremely hard to achieve so that it fits comfortably in its environment. Either way, I love the way it came out as a final presentation. I think I'll watch...

Great post! I completely love the first rendering you put up there! I'm not surprised at all that it was the picture of the week. Also, I think the new shader definitely improves on the last one and the mini map looks so much more professional like that, but I'd start to get a little more detailed on the turret (it probably looks fine from far away at the moment, though). I have to say that those last renderings of all of the rebel ships are a little unnecessary. Nonetheless, keep up the awesome work and make this mod memorable!

Man, this engine is really getting somewhere with all of the updates. Looks like it'll be a strong competitor with familiar engines such as Irrlicht, TGE, Ogre, etc. I might even highly consider this along the road. Good job Dragonlord (or whatever your name is), and really make this a good engine! By the way, I love the relation of your engine to the hierarchy of software in a computer.

That's such an awesome idea! A XBLA croquet game! The only problem is who would be so bored enough to make one. Either way, I love Mr. Potato Head and he should definitely be your Studio's mascot (besides the fact that he'll start killing people like Chucky or something someday)! By the way, the explosion seems to be really cool, but it also seems kind of edgy and not so smooth. Yet, I'm sure you guys already got that undercontrol. Peace, Dill...

I love the Wicker Man! It was such a crazy movie! I was so confused which side anyone was on until I figured out that everyone was against him. It's so sad, though, that the guy who plays Harry in Spider Man was going to be the next one... Back to the point, great update, and the game seems to really be coming together now. Great update on the textures of all of the criticized models of the last post. You guys definitely deserve a good reevaluation of last post's models. Also, I think the looks great, and I love how it has a lighter color than the rest of the fleet (or at least the refinery, etc.). It really sets it apart, but I think that making it too big, even though it is the biggest, would make you seem a little bit too indestructible than you really are. So, be wise about your size choices. Otherwise, good job, and I can't wait till the next update.

I don't know much more than a consumer, but I think it needs a lot more working with, because both the fighter and the Coruscant texture don't look very appealing to a consumer of the 21st century. Either way, just keep working on what you do, because overall, your work is amazing!

I do agree with Shamrock1322; you need to put as much of your own content into each video/image/etc. By the way, I believe that the last two stages in the USNC Mothership look way too much alike. All you did was enlarge it. Instead, I'd add some new components to the last and make it look a little more unique but not too unique. Nonetheless, I love how you did your rodes and rivers in your first map, and you guys need to keep up the good work!

I actually think that the before's were better just because the new ships practically look like a quilt. I'd either lessen the darkness on the lines separating the metal sheets or come up with another idea to make them look less patchy. Either way, I love the explosion and the glow maps look perfect. On second thought, though, I'd make the ship look torn up as it goes through damage. So, it doesn't seem like it completely blows up after one tiny shot.

This seems like it could be good, but I don't quite know how it looks yet. It would be great if you could post up some screenshots of "a demo of a long ago version". By the way, I'm currently developing the TileSense Flex Platformer Game Engine (http://www.moddb.com/Engines/TileSense), and it seems like we're in the same market (Flex is also practically the same as Flash since it exports to SWF but completely programmed, sprites, sounds, and all, in AS3).

I love the concept you used in implementing this rendering effect. It really meshes the skybox and the terrain together as though it fades into the distance. Yet, I agree with Mr_Cyberpunk that the afternoon skybox feels a little under-exposed 3D-wise, but I think that creating distant terrain would take away too much power from low-end computers. I advise, though, adding a little bit more fog, or just messing around with shaders until you find the right one. Otherwise, this is a great addition to this game, and your team needs to keep it up.
