Whatever I do and no matter how many times I reinstall DX and this mod - at start, absolutely the entire UI is painted black, there is either no text, or it is some kind of scribble. Can anyone tell what the reason is?

I put everything on the clean English version of Steam.

Not that it's a quibble, but...how did Osprey land/end up there anyway?

Since the Rainfall has sunk into oblivion, I will follow this mod with great interest.

It's pointless to say anything about the demo, because a lot has been said before me...it's absolutely f$#^@g awesome.

As Quiver5 said, if your direction does not make much sense in your opinion, then wouldn't it be better to start following your own vision of the project? Maybe, if you feel that nothing will work with this approach, stop trying to be the" same " Half-Life Source? In the end, even the same Black Mesa long ago ceased to be an attempt to estimate "how Valve would do" for a pure "fan vision of Half-Life 1" (The same Xen). If you decide to follow your own path in this matter, no one will condemn you, but it seems to me, on the contrary, they will still be interested in the final result. This is YOUR project, this is the work of YOUR life and no one but YOU has the right to dictate how it will look.

If you want to bring your creation as close as possible to the works of Valve - this is your right.
If you understand that you are trapped in a vice by trying to match Valve step by step, and you want to switch to a free personal view - this is your right.

And even more so, HLSA is not as useless as you may think. Why do we need Black Mesa: Blue Shift, if Tripmine has been working on Guard Duty for a long time? Why would we even need Guard Duty if we already have BM: BS from HECU? And also with "Why do I need HLSA, if remakes of essentially everything I do are already being made"?
Now, if you decided to make your own remake of Half-Life, as Black Mesa did, then yes, there would be a lot of questions about why it is necessary at all when there is Black Mesa? But after all, you are not making your Black Mesa, but your Half-Life Source, the way you would like it to be. Black Mesa is about how fans saw Half-Life 1 on the rails of Half-Life 2, and HLSA is about how YOU see the "right" Half-Life Source and this in itself is of some value. For a huge number of reasons and variables, it has been hanging like a dead weight in the STEAM for a very long time and who knows, your project may well revive it.

Again, no one will judge you, press you and drive you because you decided to add a little bit of your own vision. So to expel yourself on this occasion, as for me, it is simply not necessary.

Is it still possible to expect a release this year, or is it already possible to expect it no earlier than next year?

Don't worry, Crowbar Collective won't be working on any addon remakes, they're currently working on a brand new project unrelated to the Half-Life universe, so there's no danger of any addon remakes from the community.

Jeez, why did I just find out about this mod now? Looking at Black Mesa and the original Half-Life: Source, I kept thinking "Damn, it would be cool if someone improved HL: Source" and only today I find it! Improving maps and the technical state of HL: Source, plus porting addons - sounds incredibly ambitious and interesting

Looking at the screenshots, all I can say about your work is just ******* amazing! I wish you good luck in the development, and the strength to reach the end with this project, because such a project is just what Half-Life: Source truly needs.

A question:

In your FAQ, you wrote that from now on both are listed as one product, but what exactly does this mean? Both of these mods will be released simultaneously by the same game, or (as I read somewhere) Will GD be released in DLC format after OBM is released?

All right, despite my many doubts about this remake...this is amazing.

I, as it happens, got acquainted with this modification only recently and already with the Extended version, so most likely, I will not be very objective in this case, but the essence is not important.
This remake is an example of amazing work. The first half of Azure Sheep, let's be honest, is very weak both in design and gameplay, and damn it - you just turned this weakest part of the original mod into a work close to the level of Crowbar Collective. Level design, gameplay, soundtrack, a lot of some small details and events, all this is done if not at the highest, then at least just a decent level. If the second part is made with the same approach (Or will have the same Extended version), then will be no price for you!
Of course, the voice acting of Kate is very frustrating (It is Kate, everyone else copes very well), the animations sometimes look crooked (Sometimes! In all other respects, very many moments where animation plays a key role, succeeded), the mod periodically gets up very interesting tricks, like the disappearance of the voice of the character, the crashing is worth you turn back, etc. but...for the preponderance of quality / flaws that this mod gives, just do not care. it's still a great work, and still a great modification to the black mesa, to match the original.

I will wait for the Part Two with a sinking heart.

In fact, standing proofs were given in a 2012 interview on RunThinkShootLive, but alas, out of 40 - something minutes, only 31. So, for sure, no one will say. I can certainly give this most half-hour interview, but it practically does not make sense in this matter. So, officially, the answer to this question remains the ValveTime forum, where one Stephan Bahl replied that Gina's fate is still unknown. Of course, it seems like they said in an interview on RTSL that this corpse didn't have meaning, but honestly, as much as I didn't listen, I didn't hear it (however, 10 minutes were lost from there, so everything can be).

A more or less worthwhile source: Valvetime.co.uk

Interview to RTSL: Runthinkshootlive.com

EDIT: Retcons of this kind are certainly not new for the series, but really: Randy's words have the same weight for canon as Epistle 3 from Mark Laidlaw... Moreover, Gearbox is no longer working on the series, so the fate of Gina is still in the hands of Valve. When they are clicked, addon`s will also become non-canonical, so.

Unfortunately, Gina's death was a piece of Randy Pitchford ********. While he claimed it was Gina, the rest of Gearbox just said it was a random scientist in an H. E. V. suit, and Gina wasn't even planned at the time, and that the scientist at the bottom wasn't her.

So, it is very doubtful to take the words of our wizard when the rest of the developers say the opposite.

EDIT: Of course, it is quite reasonable to say: 6 years have Passed since that moment, everything could have changed! Yes, it could...but one thing: it was Randy who "confirmed" this, and him famous as man who "doing whatever the f№@k he likes", not paying attention to the rest. It's much better to just leave Gina's fate uncertain (You know, like the rest of GearBox intended) than to take Pitchford's word for it. The decision is certainly up to the mod's author, but honestly, I would think twice before trusting his words. I believe the rest of the development team. I don't believe Randy.

Impressions of the mod, very mixed. On the one hand, the average level design, the tightening of many moments and the monotony of the game process (the monotonous zombie shooting is extremely boring), but on the other ... in the fashion there are quite interesting ideas, and indeed, the author of the man is far from being stupid in terms of modding HL2. My main claim lies again - in the monotony of the game process up to the last three chapters. Here, the last three chapters were good, there was a variety and a lot of interesting moments, but ... it would be necessary If all the mod were to be performed as the last three chapters, then it would be chic! And so, a very good mod, but from the category of "Passed and Forgot." This is a typical, average mod on HL2, which is full. However, I still hope to see from you more mods, and the fact that you will take into account your mistakes, and your creations will be better and better. I wish you good luck in the future!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
