Do you mean something along the lines of how Age of Wonder's map works? Though it is tile/iso-based, the way it works and displays is really neat. When you zoom out enough, the map goes from normal iso view to an hand-drawn map with more icon elements (seamlessly). Though I'd not expect it to be seamless.

Quick question as I cannot seem to find anything about it... its been quite a while since I played this mod - are Valyrian weapons/armor in the mod?

Thanks for the update. Keep up the hard work. There's not a single game I'm more excited for.

I don't think its a matter of price, as even two really good monitors would equate out to the Oculus. More a big deal that there are still bugs with it, as it is not a consumer release as Jesusfreak says, and more troublesome is that it is not HD yet. More than likely will be addressed though. Best to wait.

If I had to guess it would have to be something pertaining to the Three Sisters. As Johko suggests, House Sunderland.

Really hoping for dark dark nights and the moon coming into play realistically. I've not seen any of the sailing games that have had truly dark nights. This pic looks like dusk so the lighting looks good.

Good luck on the search. I've been keeping an eye on I-Novae (Infinity) but it seems to be reallllly far gone. No updates in months, almsot a year, and no news, least that I've heard.
Have you looked into / heard of Limit Theory?? Absolutely unparalleled stuff, from one dev. So promising... love reading his daily dev blogs.

Glad you guys are keeping up the hard work! Sucks to give up the beautiful CryEngine but time is money, and refixing bugs over and over again is just not worth it, honestly. Good choice.

Ok good! I was hoping I didn't miss any of those details... considering I check for updates on Hearts Of Oak almost daily on here (I'm sure I'm not the only one)

If it has realistic sailing properties and control, I think even that alone would be amazing and would be a lot of fun. ESPECIALLY if stormy seas would be included.

That is something I'm holding my breath for. Storms in previous sail games have been frustrating, to say the least. Thanks!

I didn't think I could be so excited for a tech demo. Has there been a posting or something said about what exactly is going to be the goal of the tech demo / what you guys are aiming to include?

I think these beautiful little picturesque islands will add a ton of character to the game. You don't really see it in a lot of the other age of sail games. Great job.
Hopefully the rum isn't gone!

I don't think it was that great obviously. But a barometer was a good indicator. I know that in the Aubrey-Maturin series he always kept an eye on it and when it dropped or fluctuated it indicated bad weather.
I think also there were other indicators if one knew the region. Like a storm always followed x after y.

A comment I made on the new (beautiful) sunset photo made me think about transitions. I'm sure they're going to be worked on carefully. But it got me to thinking about weather transitions.
Is there going to be a barometer? Along the lines of brewing storms, will they be detectable well before hand? Are squalls planned?
It would be pure amazing to have to keep an eye on the barometer and when it starts dipping making necessary changes to sails, hatches, etc.

I can't wait to see the transition. The shots look great but the key is going to be going to a sweltering day to a sunset like this or a stormy night seamlessly.

I love these constant updates. Very cool to see progress made on a weekly basis, not to mention learn the process of how games are made and how they're put together.
Really keep it up. I learn a lot from it, not to mention getting me re-excited for an already amazing-looking game every few days!

Great job guys. Keep it up. Wanted to ask: has any thought been put into how boarding will work? Not only thoughts on how grappling a ship will work (in past games its been as simmy as it gets, with just a simple button push when you're able) but also more realistic crew numbers. I am sure its doubtful to get hundreds of crew members fighting but still.
Also not sure how viable it is to do it without the need for a loading screen and seperate "minigame" for boarding. With current games, when you board your basically safe from outside interference, so if you were in a 2 v 1, the other ship is basically paused awaiting the outcome. Other ships should be able to join the action or else rake you while you're defenseless.

Doesn't look that wrong to me from this angle, though seeing it at 3/4 from the stern and full on might help.

Amazing. Are the gun ports always going to be open on the models? I don't see that being a major factor if they're always open but could make things really interesting approaching a ship and you can't exactly count all the ports.
